I awoke to the sound of my phone alerting me of a text. The loud dinging noise making me roll over and retrieve if of the nightstand. I checked to see who it was from, straining my eyes trying to focus on the small text on the screen. It was from Frank.
Frank: hey, meet for coffee today at around 1:30? :)
I glanced at the time on my phone and saw it was almost 12:00. I typed a quick reply and got out of bed.
Sent: hey, 1:30 sounds good. I know a great place we can get coffee. :)
I shot him off the address before making my way to the shower.
I couldn't stop thinking about Frank at all last night which resulted in poor nights rest. I turned the shower on cold hoping it would assist in waking me up a bit, but that only succeeded in almost giving me hypothermia. I turned off the tap and stood there for a minute thinking about my plans today for Frank.
I was going to take him to some of my favorite places and introduce him to some of the locals. I hope he liked what I have planned.
I dried my hair off and wrapped the towel around my waist as I made my way into the bedroom. I couldn't decide what clothes to wear, I wanted to look nice but not over done. It's not like we were going out on a date or anything. It was simply just two friends going into town for some coffee. Could I even call him my friend? I mean, he did bum a smoke off of me, That has to count for something right? Right. Frank was my friend. A friend that I happened to be extremely attracted to. Nothing wrong with that.
I checked the clock and the time read 1:06 PM. Thankfully the place were going to was right down the street, I could walk there if I wanted to. In fact, I have on many occasions....I wonder what it would be like to walk hand in hand with Frank?... OKAY STOP RIGHT THERE BUDDY. you don't even Know if he's gay. Stop getting your hopes up.
after I was done daydreaming, I decided on an outfit. It wasn't anything to nice. But I did make sure to wear my tightest Pair of skinny jeans to make my ass look good. I paired them with a black flag shirt and slipped on my leather jacket over that. I didn't even attempt to tame my hair as this task proved impossible every time I attempted it. I smudged on my regular eyeliner and made my way downstairs, making sure to grab my phone of the night stand.
I skipped coffee since I was about to get some in a few minutes anyways.
I put my same old converses on, grabbed the things I needed, and made my way out the door to meet Frank.I pulled into the small café and checked the time on my phone and realized I was a little early, so I decided to go in and order.
As I walked in, the barista greeted me with a smile. I return the smile and walked up to wait in line. It wasn't too busy thankfully. By this time of day people have already come in for their morning coffee, and It looks like the lunch rush was just about ending.
I stepped up to the counter and the barista, a.k.a. Lindsey, practically leapt over the counter and embraced me in all too tight hug. I've known her for quite some time now. we will occasionally hang out around town and she's always there for me when I need advise. She is a very bubbly person. She has short black hair and always wore red lipstick. I usually didn't like look of red lipstick on people, but she could pull it off quite well.
"Gee!"
She squealed out excitedly, and held me at arms length to see me properly. I let out a small laugh at how excited she was, she always has a way of making me smile. Thankfully there was no one in the place as of right now to see her somewhat unprofessional display of affection.
"Hey lynds!" I said in a cheerful voice, returning the excitement as best I could.
"It seems like forever since the last time I saw you! How ya been?" She asked. Before I could respond though, the bell above the door went off signaling someone had come in. I turned around to see non other than Frank standing in the doorway smiling at me. He was wearing slightly torn baggy jeans, and a dark blue hoodie. His dark Brown hair was messily styled and falling slightly into his face. He looked perfect. I stopped my staring as he began to approach me.
"Hey there!" He said with a smile.
"Hey Frank! Have any trouble finding this place?" I asked, trying to make small talk right off the bat. I was nervous, I really liked Frank even though I barely knew the guy.
"Not at all, it's just a few minutes from my place actually." He responded.
Then that meant he was close to my place. Like, extremely close. I made a mental note of this as I nodded and smiled.
"Oh, that means I'm not to far from you then. It's probably within walking distance actually" i said, trying not to sound like a stalker.
"Oh cool. Feel free to stop by anytime then!" He said and smiled at me.
Holy shit. Was that an invitation to Frank's house? Because I'm definitely gonna take that offer. No doubt about it.
"Thanks, same goes for you." I said and smiled back. "so would you like to get something to drink?" I asked as I gestured toward the counter where Lindsey stood staring at us with a grin like the fucking Cheshire Cat.
But Before we could place out orders though, Lindsay of course had to say something."So who's this handsome fella Gee?" She asked as she looked between me and Frank, wiggling her eyebrows.
Oh shit. I felt my cheeks heat up as I rushed out a response. Dammit Lindsey.
"Oh um, this is Frank. He's new to town so I'm going to show him around today."
She turned her attention to Frank and introduced herself.
"Hi Frank! I'm lindsey. Welcome to Belleville! Your gonna love it here. The locals are really nice and the shops around here are pretty cool. Oh, but word of advice, don't go out alone after dark. Things can get pretty sketchy. Oh! an-"
"hey lynds?" I had to cut Lindsey off short. I loved her, but if you didn't stop her she could go on forever.
"Yeah?"
I made a gesture with my wallet and thankfully she got the idea.
"Oh right! Ordering, Sorry about that. What can I get for you guys?" She asked and looked between me and Frank.
"Just my regular please."
I laughed and turned to Frank to see what he wanted, but he was still giggling at Lindsey. Fuck he was adorable. After his giggling subsided, he placed his order.
"Just a regular coffee for me please." He said.
Lindsey smiled and nodded. "Two coffees coming right up!"
I went to reach in my wallet to grab the cash when Frank stopped me.
"Oh it's fine, I've got mine covered." He said and began to pull out his wallet.
I stopped him and insisted I pay.
"No, it's no problem, consider it my treat." I said and smiled at him.He nodded and reluctantly put his wallet back in his pocket. "Alright, thanks. But next time I'm buying!" He said with a smile and winked at me.
He fucking winked. No, that's not possible. maybe there was something in his eye? Yeah, that's it. Because there's no way Frank is flirting with me. I shouldn't get my hopes up...but he said next time, so does that mean he wants to get coffee with me again? Shit, I should really stop over analyzing things like this.
I smiled back, and nodded my head in agreement. I paid Lindsey, and lead Frank over to my favorite booth where we sat down and began waiting for our coffee.
