Splinter had told Raph to inform the group that he and April were going to pick up Cassandra and Casey Junior from the airport that was a little ways out of the city.

The mother and son duo were busy traveling the world after the chaos of the invasion. Cass decided it was best after hearing everything that went on in the future, and after finding out she had a son. She made it her mission to take him around the world for his first, non-lethal, mother-son trip. Well... mostly non-lethal. And, surprisingly, it was already on her bucket list so everyone benefited.

Raph agrees and sees the two off, then turns around and trots off into the lair to tell the others. It was a bit weird that only one of his brothers showed up, and stayed, for breakfast earlier this morning. But he didn't think much of it.

Mikey never missed breakfast. One: he claimed it to be the best and most important meal of the day. And two: his sugar would drop and get out of whack if he missed it, or any other scheduled meal. Donnie came for coffee and left to continue his lab work, as per usual. And Leo. Leo was nowhere to be seen. Raph just assumed he slept in again. Classic Leo move. He did seem pretty tired yesterday morning.

The oldest turtle brother quickly pops in and out of Donnie's lab and Mikey's train car room. He updates them on their sister and dad's current whereabouts for the morning and afternoon, then it was onto Leo's car.

Leo was the first to wake up out of the two. His chest felt warm at the sight of Usagi sleeping peacefully next to him, still in the same position he saw him in when he fell asleep. He carefully rolls onto his side and holds his hands tightly to his chest, as if he would explode or catch a deadly disease if he came into contact with the rabbit. Usagi was also facing him on his side, his brows furrowed and his nose twitching slightly at the dream stirring his mind. The turtle held his breath. He couldn't wake him up. It felt cruel, for both himself and Usagi. Watching the gentle breaths of the other was peaceful. He chased that feeling for as long as he could. But sadly, the other awoke as if he felt himself being watched. Leo didn't have the strength to turn away or pretend to be sleeping.

"Hi." Leo whispers, his voice raspy from sleep.

Usagi smiles, unusually calm for waking up in a mutant turtle's bed that he met just the other night. He blinks away the bleariness in his eyes.

"Hi."

The two share a smile and a soft, warm gaze. They stay that way for most of the late morning. No other words spoken. Glances entrusted to one another and thoughts that wandered, hoping the latter would catch them.

Okay. So their friendship was now... questionable. But did that bother them? Not really. They thought it was best to figure it all out later and live in the moment for now. Whatever the moment was right now.

Leo never really thought about his sexuality or dating in general. All of that mushy stuff made him sick, but the thought of having someone to fawn over and dream about, definitely took over his thoughts from time to time. Like when he saw Don Suave that one time. The dude was all he could think about for days. He talked about him like he was a celebrity crush. His brothers were so annoyed with him. Wait- brothers. SHIT- HE HAS BROTHERS.

He completely forgot that he brought Usagi to his room and that his brothers were only a few rooms away. It was pretty late into the morning. How the hell has no one checked in on him yet. It was sketchy. With that sudden suspicion, he jolts up into a sitting position and stares at the curtain that resembles a door to his bedroom. It was still. Not a single fold in the maroon cotton swayed, not even in the slightest bit. It was far too serene for his liking.
