People deal with a lot of problems, don't they?
Maybe their kid is misbehaving, maybe a bad grade or perhaps a kitchen incident?
Whichever it is, Martin wishes he had those problems instead.
But here he was.
Standing in their garden by the pool, seeing Nafaa pinning down Keith and holding a knife against his throat.
He was so red, full of rage.
How did he end up here?
What else could go wrong?
Martin was reaching it.
"Nafaa?" Martin hesitated to come closer, "Drop the weapon."
"No! I'll end this bitch!" He screamed, threatening to cut the skin, making Keith stretch out his neck more as he felt the cold blade.
"YOU." Nafaa started, pointing at Keith, "Have ruined SO much in our lives! It's time to put an end to you just like you ended Mazzy!"
"I don't know what you're talking ab-bout!" Keith stuttered, raising his arms in surrender.
"You damn know what you have done, bastard." Nafaa's voice broke.
Martin came closer, "Please, Nafaa. There's nothing words can't solve." He tried calming the younger down.
"I tried getting along with this stubborn fuck, so you're wrong. But this blade will fix it!" Nafaa yelled and sliced Keith's throat.
As the smaller screamed in pain, Martin lunged on Nafaa, knocking him away from Keith.
"Fucking stay away!" he was starting to feel frustrated, emotion taking over.
"Martin, I am doing this for the sake of us!"
"If it was for us then you'd think about how I feel about this!"
"Trust me, you'll feel a lot better." Nafaa smiled, slicing Martin's arm and hopping away from the taller.
The brunet hissed in pain, pressing the wound.
"Our life will be perfect when the black sheep will be gone." Nafaa spoke, approaching Keith like a predator.
"I'm sorry!" Keith yelped in fear, choking on blood that bled through his mouth.
"Sorry is too late now." he raised the knife.
Martin ran after his arms, swaying his wrists away from the younger, cutting his cheek as a consequence.
"Martin, I don't want to hurt you!" Nafaa barked.
"Don't fucking hurt Keith."
"Goddammit." Nafaa breathed in, shaking, "I'm doing this cause I am in love with you!"
Martin stood silent, weakening his grasp.
"I wanted us all to be happy, but Keith started this deathrun and I want to save us!" Nafaa cried.
The taller stared at the boy in shock, feeling Nafaa's free hand touch his bleeding cheek, wiping the blood off.
"We can catch up and be happy."
"Keith didn't do anything..." Martin whispered, Nafaa didn't hear.
"We can finish him together, we can finally be together!"
Nafaa leaned in, lips brushing against the elders.
This made him snap.
"Fucking obsessive BITCH!" Martin pushed the boy back, making him fall on his back and drop the weapon.
Martin grabbed the weapon.
"You know what? Since were confessing over here." Martin pointed the knife at Nafaa, "I did like you. Fuck, I even thought I loved you! I planned everything ahead! But I guess..." Martin looked into his eyes, pure hatred flashing, making Nafaa shiver.
"I guess, you didn't want to save what we had left." Something was not it, he did not feel like himself. Ṕ̸̥ ̴̬̐d̷͎̾v̶̦́u̵̳̽k̸̤̀l̶̳͘y̴̧̚ ̶̼͘ḏ̶͐ȏ̴͍f̶̧̛.̴̜́
"Why don't I finish your wish?" The blade flashed as Martin approached the fallen one.
"Martin- You're just gonna let everything end like with the others! I.." Nafaa stumbled across his words in panic, this was not by his plan.
"I love you." he breathed out, following the blade as it was swung in the sky.
"I hate you."
Martin said, stabbing in his stomach once, making Nafaa scream.
"Sometimes I wished we never met,"
Another stab in the pelvis.
"Now I really wish that."
Tears flowed from both of their eyes, stabbing another time in the abdomen.
"I kinda still wish for us to end well."
Martin sniffled, for the first time, he let himself cry, seeing his love getting pale by losing blood.
He let this happen.
He let his own fear happen with his own hands.
"I guess.. this is the best ending we get?"
A stab in the heart, Nafaa gasped for the last breath, body going completely limp.
Martin stared at his lifeless body, holding his breath.
The pain was surrealistic, he felt out of this world.
He lost everything.
There was nothing else.
"Well, I guess the burden is gone?" Keith spoke, crawling towards the elder.
He kept staring, heart feeling like it's about to stop.
There was...
Nothing...
Else...
To..
Lose.
"He wasn't that important anyway, were the ones getting the good end!"
"Shut up."
"Excuse me?" Keith eyed Martin standing up.
He let it happen. He will let it happen. Not like he has a choice.
This was his ending, what could he change?
At least his friends will meet each other in their afterlife.
Silent, he gripped by Keith's hair and dragged him.
"Martin? The fuck?! Let me go!" Keith squirmed, trying to let go of his grip, but it was too powerful.
No response, he had only one mission.
The smaller noticed the pool approaching, "Martin, it hurts. Let me go and let's go back to normal!"
He slid the boy towards the pool, making him drop in.
Keith gasped, looking madder than ever.
"Are you out of your mind?!" Yes, he is doing something he never thought he would, "This is really unfunny."
He didn't care anymore. What was the point of letting them suffer? Why not just e̵n̵d̶ this story once and for all.
Martin jumped in himself, grabbing Keith by the throat, making him cringe in pain, "Stop!" he scratched the elders hand.
"Rest well." Martin spoke without emotion.
Before Keith could respond, he was forced under water, filling his lungs with water.
He fought, at one point making Martin's hands bleed, but he kept holding him under, almost breaking his fragile neck.
"Shh, it's gonna be alright." Tears flowed once again as he smiled.
They're gonna be at peace.
When Keith's eyes became dim and he stopped fighting back, Martin finally let go.
A lifeless body floated in the pool as he quit, shivering as the wet clothing made him extremely cold.
"This might be it..." he swayed around the dark house, looking around.
He looked at the sofa in the living room, seeing pink and cyan figure fighting over something.
Moving his eyes to the kitchen, he saw yellow dancing around with purple running around.
Looking at the entrance door, he saw a blue figure waving, seeming like a smile formed.
All the figures faded, he ran to his room.
That's it, he was completely losing his mind.
"Blade, blade, blade..." He kept saying, searching for his own exit.
He had to see them again.
As he found it, he lined it against his wrist.
This friend group will be a forgotten memory.
"Finally.."
He fell to the ground, blood spilling out.
"I may enjoy another life."
The end.
Wow, guys! That was mouthful.
Hope you enjoyed the story!
That was truthful spirit of woe, there was no cliche good ending.
It's whatever.
Now that we reached the end of these pathetic little people, I may reveal myself too.
Was glad telling you this story!
Narrator Andrew, out.
But I had different plans.
