After five days of being stuck on a deserted island. . .

Brad called out to his wife, "Jessica, where are you?"

He heard no reply.

He continued walking until he finally stumbled upon her laying on the ground. He gently shook her.

She remained still.

He flipped her over and gasped, her face was pale, her eyelids closed, her breath silent. . .

He knew this would happen and he was determined to stay strong. He ran to find Russell to tell him the news.

They were both silent and shared unspoken sorrows. They later hiked back to where she lay and buried her under a beautiful palm tree.

They knew they had to escape before this too would become their fate.

After five months of being stuck on a deserted island. . .

Russel couldn't bear to leave his friend behind but he knew it was the only way. If he didn't go now there would never be another chance. He quickly escaped, hoping that Brad too could leave this horrible place.

After five years of being stuck on a deserted island. . .

Russel looked down at his phone after receiving a Facebook message.

"Hey. It's me."

"Me who?"

"Come on now Russel Bo Bussel."

He hadn't heard that in a long time and couldn't help but know who it was.

"Brad?"

"Why did you leave us? Don't you love me?¿?"

"Us?"

"Oh yes, don't you remember my beautiful tree, Jessica?"

He knew that Brad had gone crazy. That he had married himself to a tree in place of his wife.

Reilly turned off her phone amazed at was she had just read.

A normal person would probably think that the story was creepy, but she couldn't stop laughing. She was astonished that her friend had actually written a story based on the previous joke they had just made in order to remember it. The whole was utterly stupid, but to these two complete oddballs almost anything could become a joke if they put their minds to it.
