Chapter Eight

{Akari POV}

We're back at the villain base, and I'm with Toga hanging out in my room. She's laying on my bed rearranging the pillows on my bed to make a tower with them, and I'm over at my mirror, fixing my hair up and making it look good. The tower Toga made falls over and she laughs to herself, then looks to me. "Akari-chaaaaaan, when can we go out to the main room?" I look to her and smile, "I told you, Shigs said we need to stay in our rooms until he's done talking to the UA boy we got."
She sighs and sprawls herself out on my bed, "But we was gonna-" I put a finger over her mouth, smiling to her. "Patience, we're gonna be able to go out in a bit ok?" She looks at me with a pouting face, but it doesn't affect me. Eventually she groans, nodding to me and continuing to stack pillows on my bed.
A few minutes later though, Shigaraki enters my room and looks at me. "You need to go and talk to the kid." Me and Toga look to each other confused, "What? Why? Didn't you say-" "Forget what I said, go out there. Now. Everything will make sense when you get out there." Shigaraki steps aside, motioning to the door. I look to Toga, who's visibly upset I need to go, and I go over to her and kiss her forehead. "I'll be right back Himi, I promise you ok?" She nods and hugs me, and I hug her back. After that, I start making my way to the room where Shigs told me he's keeping the UA kid.

{Denki POV}

I keep trying to get out of the restraints that I'm in, but it won't budge. This blindfold isn't helping me escape either, making it impossible to actually see my progress. I knew that it was the League, I just didn't know how to prove it, but now I do. They've captured me and there's no doubt that they also have- "Well well well, hey there Kaminari. Fancy seeing you here hm?" That's..that's Akari! "Akari?! What's going on?! Where are we?! Are you-" I get cut off by getting hit in the stomach, which makes me start coughing. "Slow down. That's one thing I definitely don't miss, you talk too fast." What..? What is she talking about? I barely manage to talk through my coughing, "W-what are you talking about A-akari?" She doesn't speak for a few seconds, but I feel her nails running along my face, which makes me slightly flinch. "Hey now, you don't need to flinch like that," I can't see her but I can tell she's in front of me, "after all, we're friends right Kaminari?" She laughs a bit and sighs. Why...why is she acting like this? I slightly straighten myself upright, "Akari, what's...what is this..?" Again silence. "Don't you get it? I know you aren't especially the smartest kid back at UA, but I feel like even you could understand this," I feel something sharp run across my leg and she let's out a small laugh, "just think for a second. Kami, I don't want to be a hero. I found my family. They're here."
What..? No no she's..this isn't the Akari I know. She's being brainwashed by the villains, she thinks she's a villain! I had this thought a few weeks ago..and it's true? No no, she's still in there, I know I can get through to her! I have to get through to her!

{Akari POV}

I'm standing in front of Kaminari, looking at him try to helplessly free himself. Eventually he finally speaks again, "A-akari listen, they're corrupting you. This isn't you, this isn't the person I knew! The person who would talk for hours about her dreams of being a hero, the person who would talk about how many lives she'd save," I can see tears falling from the blindfold, "the person who spent hours trying to better everyone else, and the person who was the closest that Todoroki had to a friend!" I stare at him for a minute, watching him sit there..tied up and crying because of me... "Akari y-you're in there somewhere, I know that you-" I kick him again, making him cough. If I didn't have self control I would've killed him, but then there'd be blood on my hands and I should wait for a better opportunity. "Shut your mouth Kaminari. I don't miss any of that. I don't care if Todoroki misses me. Just shut up." He immediately starts crying a bit more. Pathetic. I never liked that about him. I shove his face before I step out of the room and make my way back to my room. When I walk back in, Toga immediately runs to me and hugs me very violently, and I hug her back normally, then picking her up and holding her up since she's light. I look to Shigaraki who's sitting on my bed and step over to him, "I finished talking to the kid. You should do the rest of your work." He looks at me and Toga, then sighs and leaves my room. Almost immediately after he left, Toga climbed onto my shoulders and laid her head on mine. I didn't mind obviously and proceeded to go to my bed, sitting down and watching TV with Toga.
