We drew fucking straws, again!
I luckily ended up winning claiming my right to sleep in Starla's bedroom for the night. Watching over her. Demirs idea about us taking turns to be with her throughout the night, in case her monster makes a reappearance to haunt her, was actually fucking brilliant.
I long for some rare quality time alone with her and now I fortunately have it. That is, after we travel to the Beelthezar Mountains deep into the Malum Realm to find the missing piece of the sword. Thank fuck, King Talon was able to finally inform us where the next to the last piece of the sword was located but unfortunately it's hidden deep within the mountains, inside the Alastair Caves. With Niko and I not being able to fly there like Alis and Demir actually can we have to trek our way through the rough Rocky Mountain range on fucking foot. A half a days travel there and a half a days travel back apparently.
King Zenith offered a few of his trusted guards to accompany us but we politely declined his offer. I just don't trust the bastard no further than I can throw him. The way he obnoxiously keeps eyeing Starla when she's not looking irks me to no end.
Even with his mate beside him he will still eye her down without a care for Malases feelings at all. I noticed how he was acting last night at the dinner table and every time his mate caught him doing it he would just give her a wicked evil grin. It didn't stop him from doing it though, it's like he has not as prince of care for his mates feelings at all.
I undoubtedly plan to keep a guarded eye on him during our stay here at the castle. Starla has enough to deal with already she doesn't need a vulture trying to swoop down on her just to devour her like some prey out to savage her, that's for damn sure.
"Ready?" Ask Starla, I nod my head but deep inside I'm fucking dreading this long ass trip.
