A Matter Of Time

A little backstory:

      Luke and Chris were childhood friends, they first met when they were in kindergarten. They have always been close friends since. Then middle school came, it was the time when Chris figured out his sexuality and came out as gay to Luke. Luke didn't understand what it meant back then and was fine with it and continued being friends with Chris. Then high school came, and around the sophomore year, they suddenly drifted apart. Luke found new friends and Chris became the president of the debate team. Luke began to skip school with his new friends and get into trouble while Chris became the perfect student and got good grades and was always at the top of the class.

It is now the first day of junior year for both of them. Chris went to school early to organize some things in the club room. While he was there slowly more and more students started to Rome the hallways and the school is now loud and crowded with students.

   "Good morning, Chris!!! " a girl barged inside the room Chris was in.
   "I knew you were going to be here early even though it's just the first day of school. " she said amazed.

She is Joy Evergreen, the secretary of the student council.

   "Ugh, it's so early. Don't be so loud" Another girl walked inside after Joy.

She is Maylene Auburt, the student council's treasurer.

   "Good morning, Joy, May. " Chris greeting the both of them while fixing some papers.
   "You need help on that, pres? " Maylene asks as she picks up some paper on the ground that Chris dropped.
   "Ah, no need. I'm almost finished anyways. " Chris said taking the papers in Maylene's hand.
   "Hmm, if you say so." Maylene said sitting down in the couch and bringing out her phone out of her pocket.

   "I'm, huff, here! " A panting boy enters the room.

   "Ooh! You are.. 7 minutes late! Well, that's a new time record! " Joy joked.

The panting boy is Edward Springs, the student council's adviser.

   "Shut up, Joy! At least I'm here, right? " Edward says as he sat next to Maylene.
   "Right.. " Joy muttered jokingly. Then the school bell rang.
   "You that guys. You have to go now, you guys don't want to be late right? " Chris said and crosses his arms.
   "Yes, mOm~" Joy said, the others also got up and headed out, Chris then also went to his classroom. Chris got inside the classroom and sat in a seat.

  A little while later the teacher arrived and had an attendance check. All the other students were present since it was the first day of school for everyone.

   "Chris Lorenzo Marquez?" the teacher called out Chris's name.
   "Here! "
   "Viktor Lukas Alekhein?" the teacher calls Luke's name but there was no answer.
  "Luke? Luke's in my class? " Chris thought.
   "Viktor Alekhein? " the teacher calls again. Still no answer.
   "Is Mr. Viktor Alekhein here? "
   "I'm here" Luke says as he enters the room.
   "Alright, everyone is here." Luke sits next to Chris. Luke sat in his seat and rested his feet in his desk, Chris thought that it was rude while the teacher seems to just ignored it.

The teacher wrote their name in the board
   "Everyone I'm Mrs. Richards, I am your English teacher and your advisor for this school year. " then the class started.

   Chemistry class, it was almost time for lunch and the teacher was finishing up the lesson.
   "Alright, that is all.. " the teacher said, the students in the class was relieved that it is now lunch time.
   "But before you guys go, i will pair you guys up for a project." the teacher paired up 2 students into a group.
   "And the last group is.. Mr. Marquez and Mr. Alekhein. You guys will be studying and making a presentation about... " the teacher said. Chris looked at Luke who seems to be pissed about the fact he is paired with Chris.
