A Matter Of Time

The next day, Chris went to school early. Walking on the hallways and to the student council room, he saw a girl inside.
          "Hey, Chris. Good morning. " she smiled while using her phone. "Good morning, Cee. Why are you here so early? "

She is Kaycee Johnsons, the student council's vice president.

"Oh, nothing. Just woke up early for some reason. You? " she responded.
   "I just came here to get some stuff done. It's unusual for you to come here early though. " I jokingly said and she giggled as well.
   "Heh, yeah. It's really unusual. " she said and continued on what she was doing earlier.

Chris then went to get some paperwork on a drawer and started arranging it. A while later Maylene, Joy, and Edward walked inside the room.
   "Hey, pres! Oh, and hey cee! " Joy greeting Chris and Kaycee, Kaycee nodding in response while smiling.
   "Hey, guys. " Chris greeting them back.
   "Hey Chris, what happened with you and that Lukas guy yesterday? " Maylene asked.
   "Yeah, yeah! Spill, spill! " Joy exclaimed
   "Oh hm, nothing much really. " Chris said finishing up the paperwork he is doing.
   "Ehh?? That's it? Really? " Edward sighed.
   "Ohh, come on! Don't be kj! Tell us the full story! " Joy insisted.

   "Well, we talked and did our project. But that's all, nothing really happened. " Chris explained.
   "Did he doesn't something to you? " Maylene asked.
   "What? "
   "Did he? " Maylene asked again.
   "No. Why would he? " Chris protested.
   "What're you guys on about? " Kaycee asked.
   "He has a bad record here in school, of coarse I'd worry about him hurting you or something. " Maylene explaining to Chris.
   "We're talking about Pres and Lukas being partnered together for a project. " Edward answering Kaycee.

   "Lukas? Lukas Alekhein? " Kaycee asked, and joy humming in response.
   "I'm surprised why the teacher partnered them up. That delinquent!! " Joy ranted.
   "I get why you're worried. He did have a bad record here in the school. " Kaycee spoke.

   "Bad record? So what if he had a bad record. I knew him since we were kids so I know he wouldn't hurt me. So please stop worrying. " Chris sighed.
   "Whatever you say, I guess. " Maylene said, annoyed.

   "I'm impressed on what you guys have worked on Mr. Marquez. Mr Alekhein. You guys must've worked hard on his project and I'm proud." The teacher stated.
   "hank you Mrs. M. We did what we could and we worked so hard on it. The both of us. " Chris smiled.
   "I'm glad that you guys worked together. And for that I'll give you an A on this project. " the teacher said.
   "Thank you, ma'am! " Chris exclaimed smiling. Chris then looked at Luke who seems to be unfazed while crossing his arms.
   "You can go back to your seats boys. " the teacher said, then they both went back to their seats.

Lunch time, the students now are all in the cafeteria.
   "Hey guys, isn't it great that we got a high grade on that project? " Chris asked.
   "I guess, since you said you both did the research. " Edward answered.
   "But are you sure you BOTH did it, not just you? " Maylene asked.
   "I'm sure, why are you guys getting so weird about it? " Chris said, there were no answers from them.

   "Anyways.. " Joy spoke breaking off the silence.
   "There's a party this Friday and we all thought to go there, are you coming? " She continued.
   "I don't know, what type of party is it? " Chris asked.
   "You know the usual.. Beers, Chaos, Fun. " Maylene said.
   "Beer? Aren't we minors? We shouldn't drink beer. Plus, if people find out that we would drink beer it would ruin our reputation for the school council. " He spoke.
   "Don't worry about it, this party is private. Only students are invited. " Joy explained.
   "I still don't know, I haven't drank beer before.. " Chris sighed.
   "Then we could introduce you to beginer friendly drinks there. " Edward responded.
   "Hmm.. I'll think about it. " Chris said.
