Brothers

Chapter 12

Once all of them were awake and had some food Leo got for them, they left for the village. The younger turtles were beginning to get use to the jungle but not as well as Leo.

They entered the house meeting the three boys and their father, Ricardo spoke "Ok Leo they said if you go ton the scientists they will give you Miguel and you know the rest."

Leo nodded and said "My brothers will stay here Raph you will go with me but wait out side and bring Miguel back here understand?"

They nodded as Ricardo left for work, Mikey and Donnie followed the kids into the living room and Raph followed Leo out of the house blending into the jungle.

As Raph followed Leo through the trees he asked "Leo you don't plan on leaving this place do you?" Leo stopped not turning around but answering "No because if I escape again they will take Miguel or all of them again and not hesitate on killing them I'm not losing anyone not again."

Raph looked confused "Again?," he asked. The eldest turtle turned around and said "while I was in there I wasn't alone, you know how I freed twenty people well counting me there was 22 only 21 made it out, The one that was left was this old lady who was blind she was a doctor we had the same cell she would treat my wounds the many times I almost died she saved me but they found out what she was doing and killed her in front of me...I couldn't save her."

Raph stared at his brother he could see that he was guilty for the old lady's death and in a way he was but not really, before the red banded turtle could say anything the blue clad turtle was already running again. In the distance a old looking building came into view, you could tell it was burnt to the ground and recently rebuilt because it was still black on one side of the building.

Leo spoke in a whisper "Raph stay here I'll send Miguel this way, and please stay hidden I don't want you caught, understand?" Raph nodded as he watched his older brother run out of hiding, he was so fast that he was just a blue and green blur. Leo stopped in front of 6 scientists two were holding Miguel, the first scientist spoke in a deep voice "Hello again Ghost of the Jungle did you come to reclaim what belongs to you," he asked motioning to the small shaking boy. Leo glared at the man and said poison dripping from every word "Let him go and take me."

The two men holing Miguel pushed him forward, once out of the men's hand he ran and hugged Leo's leg speaking in Spanish. Leo replied back in Spanish telling him to run to his brother so he can go home and that he would be back soon. The boy nodded and ran the direction of Raph, once he reached him Raph picked him up and ran back to the village.

Leo stood from where he was crouched taking to Miguel and said "Ok he is safe now do you think you can catch me now?" The men nodded as the turtle drew his katanas, they charged him with guns, knives, machetes, and sticks. Leo managed to take out 2 of the men unharmed, he was shot I the shoulder twice and had a machete in his stomach, but he still fought taking out the rest of the men.

He tied the unconscious men together pulling them into the building taking out 40 men tying them all together. He fashioned a bomb out o some of the old explosives he found, lighting the fuse while he limped away. When he was a safe distance e turned and watched as the building exploded killing every scientist in there.

Meanwhile in Tomas's house the three younger turtles sat on the floor with the three kids talking, when the earth shook in the distance they could she the huge mushroom cloud from where the research facility blew up. Raph's eyes grew wide as he said "That's where Leo is, that was the science place."

Raph turned to Tomas and said "Stay here with your brothers we are going for Leo ok?" He nodded as the three turtles disappeared into the jungle. The two youngest turtles followed their hot-headed brother in the direction of the explosion. When they neared the facility the air grew thick with smoke causing them to cough, they regained fresh air but all they could see was the burning building. On the ground leaned against a tree was a figure, its head was hung low showing it was either unconscious or dead.

The three mutants slowly made their way over to the slumped figure weapons at ready only o find out it was their older brother. His body was covered in minor burns, scratches that were still bleeding some deep others not that much but the four injuries that drew their attention was the gun wounds on his shoulder and he machete buried deep in his stomach.

Donnie reached to check his pulse only to have his hand caught by his suppose to be unconscious brother, he gasped and looked into Leo's eyes. Leo shook his head and looked at his brothers managing a weak pain filled smile he choked out his words but were still clear enough to understand "H-he-hey g-gu-ys."

He began to cough blood trickling down his chin, Raph and Mikey picked his up following Donnie back to the village quickly not trying to shift Leo to bad. Once they arrived at Tomas's house they laid him n the couch Donnie doing what he could.

Hours passed soon turning into night when Ricardo came home, his four sons ran to greet him but he could see the sadness in their eyes. he followed his sons into the small living room only to find Raph holding Mikey as tears ran down his face on his shoulder, and Donnie working on a unconscious and very badly wounded Leo.

Donatello soon stopped working after the boys had gone to bed he turned to his concerned brothers and worried Ricardo, he smiled some and said "He is stable but he lost lot of blood I don't know when e will wake up a week maybe...I just don't know." Raph stepped forward and said " Donnie this is Leo we are talkin about he will push through he always does."

Mikey wiped away his tears and said "W-we n-need to rest." The turtles and tall man nodded, Ricardo went to his room leaving the turtles with their brother. Around 3 in the morning Leo groaned waking up his sleeping brothers they looked with hope filled eyes that he was ok. HIs eyes slowly opened staring at his brothers he smiled and weakly said "w-w-we w-w-won."

His brothers hugged him l letting their tears fall even Raph, Leo spoke again "I-I lo-love you gu-guys." Out of the other room Ricardo, Tomas, Alan, Dante, and Miguel all walked in each smiling and greeting their friend back, Ricardo thanking him for saving Miguel. Leo nodded siting up wincing a little before standing his tone was stronger now "I-I completely destroyed their lab, and killed every scientist there...I'm not proud of killing but it was me and many more or tem and no more."

A few weeks passed and Leo and his brothers said their goodbyes knowing was not they last time they would meet before departing and heading home to New York. the ride home was full of questions and many different answers laughs and just loving brother moments. When they arrived back at the lair Leo instantly called Splinter telling him the whole story, he did something he never thought he would do he relaxed with hi bros wondering what their next adventure will be.
