Chapter Six

"Lauren" I said looking at her.
"Yes my love" she turned down the radio a little.
I had always been really tall but Lauren was the same height as me and I love it.
"I'm excited for you too meet my family" I said reaching over and grabbing her hand.
"I'm nervous" she said lifting our hands up and kissing mine.
"There is no reason to be nervous" I said,even though I'm terrified.

After two hours of driving we were at in my old town.
"Turn right up here" I said pointing at my old street.
"I'm really scared Sky" she said biting her bottom lip.
"Please don't be" I begged,"next house on the left"
I saw cars parked outside the house and some people on the porch.
When she pulled in the driveway I knew everyone was wondering who was in the car.
As soon as I stepped out people started screaming.
They all started running towards me.
"SKY IS THAT YOU?"
"AW YOURE HERE"
"I DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE COMING"
"How's college?"
I couldn't answer everything at once then my mom ran out and hugged me.
"I've missed you" she said I could see tears forming then she laid her head back on my chest.
"I know" I said.
She let out a low laugh, "brat" she said letting the grip go and wiping a tear.
Then Lauren got out of the car,"who's this?" She gave me a stern look.
I walked over to Lauren and intertwined our arms "this is Lauren,she's my-"
my mom cut me off, "nice to meet you Lauren" she shook Lauren's hand.
"Get your bags and you guys can stay in sky's old room." My mom said heading back up to the house. Lauren and I followed.
When we got inside there was more hellos and hugs.
When we got up to my room I left the door half way open.
"Look Lauren" I said sitting my stuff down on the bed "I think we should keep the girlfriend thing on the down low at least for today cause apparently my mom didn't tell everyone else I was gay"
"I understand I just-" she was cut off.
"Knock knock" then she pushed the door open,it was my sister Sadie, "what's up sky"then she saw Lauren "oh hi"
"Hello" Lauren said extending her hand.
"I'm Sadie,sky's sister. And you are?" She shook Lauren's hand.
"Lauren"
"Nice to meet you" Sadie said.
"The pleasure is all mine" Lauren headed for the door,"I will let you two talk" then she disappeared down the hall.
Sadie raised an eyebrow at me,"who's she?"
"Lauren? She's just a friend from college" I said.
"Well I'm glad your back" she hugged me, "haven't seen you since you ran off to go live with your friend" she let go "I think it's cool mom let you move out like that."
I swallowed a lump in my throat "Yeah-um-let's go down stairs"
"Okay" we headed out the door.
