Chapter 2: Maverick

12 Hours earlier

"Hey I need that triple cheese at the window!" Gia says loudly.
"What's up Gia." Maverick says walking towards the back of the fast food chain.
"Hey Mav! Damn this car been at my window for five minutes can I get that Triple cheese Damn what I gotta do come back there and cook it!" Gia says as Maverick hangs his coat up he laughs.
"Yo Maverick let me holla at you." Marcus the manager says. As Maverick hangs his coat up he walks towards the small office and says "What's up boss man?"
"Remember Saturday night the 19th last week?" Marcus says curiously.
"Yea I closed that night." Maverick says.
"Yeah and you walked out with two bags of nuggets that's company property." Marcus says seriously.
"Huh?" Maverick says confused.
"We got you on camera man." Marcus says.
"Look Marcus I'm-" before Maverick can continue Marcus interrupts "Look man I gotta let you go go head and head on out." Looking defeated Maverick says "Please man I'll pay it back I need this job."
"Sorry man should've just asked to take some food we wouldn't give you two bags of nuggets but we would've definitely fed you I'm sorry man you gotta go." Marcus says as he makes his way to the front of the store.
"Shit!" Maverick says as he punches the air.
Maverick grabs his coat and makes his way outside.
Waiting at the bus stop he sees an elderly man smoking a cigarette.
"Hey man can I bum a square off you?" Maverick says.
The man nods his head and pulls out his pack of cigarettes and gives Maverick one along with a lighter to light the cigarette.
"Thanks so much man." Maverick says. The man just nods his head and continues to smoke his cigarette.
Two bus rides later Maverick approaches some apartment complex and knocks on the door.

"Kisha" Maverick says pounding on the door.
The door swings open and a thick 5'7 women with smooth dark skin and long blue hair answers the door with a toddler on her hip.
"What you want nigga you coming to get yo kids?" Kisha says.
"Kisha I got one kid with you." Maverick says.
"These was all your kids when you was living here though." Kisha says smacking her lips.
"Look Kish can I come in stay here tonight?" Maverick says as he touches Kisha's pussy through her skin tight boxer shorts.
"Nah nigga my man on his way you can come get your son and take him back to yo sister house with you." Kisha says smacking Mavericks hand.
"Every three days you got a new nigga you a rat bitch!" Maverick says shaking his head.
"If I was such a rat bitch I'd let you come in and eat my pussy cause that's all you good for once I met a horse I can't go back to no shrimps baby!" Kisha says sarcastically.
"Whatever bitch I have you screaming my name!" Maverick says as he walks away.
"Yeah screaming your name to get you from on top of me bumping coochies! Nigga that's all you came for damn you don't even wanna see your son dead beat ass nigga I'd never fuck you again!" Kisha yells.
Maverick turns around and sticks his middle finger up and said "Whatever bitch you will choke on this dick again!"
As Maverick approaches his bus stop he says under his breath "Stupid Bitch!"
One bus ride later Maverick approaches his sisters townhouse complex and heads in the door.
Sitting on the living room couch feeding a baby Danielle says "Why you here so early?"
Maverick makes his way to the couch next to his sister and says "Got fired for taking them nuggets."
"Damn Mav I'm sorry you would think with four baby daddies and a boyfriend my kids should never go hungry! That's why I'm so done with that nigga Taz. I'm sorry tho Mav." Danielle says sincerely.
"You good Yelle shit I had to do what I had to do shit I appreciate you letting a Nigga crash here." Maverick says.
"Shit I thank you man you help with these damn kids I still don't see how I ended up being 25 with five damn kids speaking of I gotta get ready in a hour to get them from the school bus stop." Danielle says.
"Shit you wanna smoke? I just wanna get high and lay down at this point." Maverick says defeated.
"I got some bud bro go head and face I'll put Shi (the baby) to sleep so she can be sleep when I head to the bus stop." Danielle says. Maverick makes his way to the room he and his nephew share and he proceeds to roll up. After Maverick face half of the blunt he lays on his air mattress and falls to sleep.

12 Hours Later
"DANIELLE!"
Maverick screams as she hit the floor luckily she never let her baby go. Taz released her neck but knocked her to the floor. As Taz attention goes to Danielle seeing if she passed out or not Maverick rushes Taz and they struggle over the gun then BOOM another shot rings out barely missing her 6 year old daughter who came out the room to see what the commotion is about.
"Go IN THE ROOM WITH CHARLEIGH MARIAH!" Maverick screams still wrestling for the gun. Danielle gets up and sits her yelling baby in a chair beside her and rushes to the kitchen the first thing she sees is an cast iron skillet and she picks it up and rushes to her brothers aid she is standing behind Taz and she swung the skillet so hard both men fell to the couch and Maverick is able to get the gun. Police sirens approaches and Charleigh heads out to the living room to see what's going on.

BANG BANG BANG "POLICE OPEN UP!" The officers say.
"COME IN HE'S IN HERE!" Danielle and Charleigh scream.
"HANDS UP HANDS UP" the officer says. As everyone holds their hands up everyone points to Taz.
"That's him. I'm the caller!" Charleigh says.
Once the police takes everybody's statements they arrest Taz for felonies assault and possession of a unregistered firearm.
Danielle goes to tend to her frightened children.
Maverick makes his way to Danielle's room where she is in her bed with her 5 children.
"You ok sis?" Maverick says.
"Yes thanks bro I called Unc he on his way he gone stay here tonight." Danielle says hugging on her now calm baby.
"Ok sis it's getting dark imma walk Charleigh home I'll probably stay out unless you need me?" Maverick says.
"No I'm ok bro go head no need for you to be walking out here late." Danielle says.
"Love you sis." Maverick says walking out Danielle's room.
"Love you more brother lock up." Danielle says.
Making his way to the front door where Charleigh is Maverick says "Come on it's getting late I'll walk you home." Looking out the screen door Charleigh says "Let me call Ace I can't go to my moms crib right now."
