"Patrice!"
I watch as she kept on walking. I hurriedly followed her as she made for the stairs.
"Ritchie meet mi a mi car," I called to the figure who stood by the stairway his big bulk relaying a lazy carefree manner that belied his alertness.
I quickly continued after Patrice. As I made my way from the rooftop bar I deliberately avoided the curious and intrigued stare of the patrons who stood watch to the drama that Zindi has created.
I swore under my breath as I wipe my lips hating the fact that I allowed her to get that close to me. Zindi knew we did not stand any chance of ever getting back together yet she deliberately played like we did.
"Pat..."
Her name died on my lips and my voice stuck in my throat as I stared infront of me.
Wha the fuck him a duh yah? Did Patrice call him?
I felt my blood boil as I watch him grasp her hand but it was the look of total and utter concern on his face as he gazed at her that had me lessing the distance between them and me with longer strides.
Nuh waah no man a wul on pan mi ooman.
I was only an arm's length from them when I saw their attention turn to me approaching them. I paid Odean no mind as I reach out to take hold of Patrice but she shrugged off his grip and continued to leave.
I could feel his eyes on me as I stepped past him but what surprised me was when his hand shot out and grip my shoulder.
A wha di bloodclaa...?
"Jus Know Seh A Mi Av Ar First..."
I knew what he was implying and what he was also stating.
I look down at the hand on my shoulder and then at him. How easy it would be to stoop to his level, but Patrice was never about claiming so that I could brag that I had her before some another man.
Patrice was more than a conquest for me. She was never another notch in my belt or to increase my bragging rights. If only this asshole never kept on being in the way or holding such an integral part of her life I would have long ago gotten this through to her.
"Yow a betta yuh leggo off a mi," I said coldly shrugging from his grasp and hurrying after Patrice.
I caught up with her just as she was walking down the corridor that separated a series of bars and clubs. You could hear the faint sounds of music seeping through the guarded doors.
Fuck she have on heels and a duh road so!
"Hey," I said sprinting the distance to catch up with her.
"Wah yuh a fallah mi fah?" she asked turning to face me.
"Mi need yuh fi stop e foolishness," I said taking a hold of her hand.
She gave a humorless chuckle as she look at me. I could tell this was not going to be good.
"If a mi like yuh, yuh lef mi alone mek mi gwaan weh mi a guh," she told me her eyes glaring daggers at me.
"Listen let's go back to the hotel and talk."
She pull her hand away from mine and was about to speak when one of the doors behind us open giving us a full blast of the blaring music within. I watch as it caught her attention and momentarily gave me the chance to pull her along to the stairs that lead to the exit.
