Chapter 1: Courthouse

NORMAL P.O.V

"Excuse me sir, but where am I?" Alfera asked a bit stern but still scared. The three looked at each other quite surprised by her answer. Until the tall blonde man nodded and stated.

"You have manners. I like that. I'm Erwin Smith. This is Levi and that's Eren Yeager. You are in a dungeon for safe keeping. For now you are being won over by the Military Police and the Survey Corps." The man named Erwin explained to the girl what was happening on the moment. Alfera who knows she's in a bad situation, have to be careful to prove she's innocent.

"Why? Did I do something wrong?" She innocently stated. What she did to make her meet the jury has to be something good than bad.

"Do you even remember what really happened?" The serious looking man, Levi stared at her figure, chained and confused. His response made her fell silent. Alfera shooked her head, mind in her thoughts.

"Why did you save our men?" Erwin asked her sternly. Still not facing them she asked.

"Then please answer this first. What is the Survey Corps?" Alfera's voice went shacky alarming them that she may be scared.

"The Survey Corps is an organization of people who have greater intellect and skill. We enter the enemies' base either investigate or eliminate them. Our current mission is to reach the basement of Eren's home. It might have the reason for the titans and the shifters." He explained. She gasped. Alfera remembered in her visions before.

"I did that because I don't want more people to die infront of me." She finally looked up to their eyes. Orbs glinting furious anger. "They killed everyone. My city destroyed, people devoured. I've seen them how they eat humans right infront of me. I wanted to kill them but I never have the guts to do so. I was all alone. My grudge against them never wavered. I realized this power a few years back, I found black marketers in a forest and kidnapped children. I killed them the moment I entered. Saving the children was easy but explaining to them was so difficult. I saved them from kidnappers and titans as well, that's how I got my titan power." Alfera gritted her teeth. How rough she gone through to have a home. Erwin albeit impressed, asked her once again. This time it meant something.

"Join the Survey Corps, Miss-" he paused.

"Alfera. And I accept your invitation. I hope for the best results." She nodded and a smile evident on her face. Facing the other who never joined the conversation, she asked him.

"Eren. Will you at least explain to me how this trial will go?" She smiled pleadingly. Noticing a surprised look on his face he turned to Levi who nodded for permission.

"Well, from what I remember correctly you will have to answer some question after the judge read the reports. But it will take some time to finish the trial because some are just spilling their reasons on you being own by their sides at least." Eren came forward explained everything at the jailed girl who surprised knew how it was going to go on.

"Eren how do you know it will go on as that follows? It's amazing!" She beamed like a baby who got its gift a teddy bear. Yeager scratched his nape, a bit flattered. Meanwhile Erwin and Levi were just listening.

"He was just like you." Levi butted in and started. Alfera startled. "Titans killed his mother, saved people and was sent to trial. Turns out, he's a shifter. And you're just like him." Levi grabbed him on the back and threw him on the wall. Eren, grunts in pain, Levi striding to the bars and Alfera terrified at the corporal. She backed up on her bed but her back was against it. She noticed chains on her hands and feet. Alfera felt a wave of sadness and pain wash over her. She shooked.

"Last question. Why would you join the Survey Corps. even if it would kill you in the end?" He deadpanned, staring at the girl intently. She replied gloomily.

"Because... because I want mankind to be free once more. Titans caged us from its terror. Only if they could feel. They made me all alone. I don't want that. I had no one go to. I had no one to fight for that's why I fight for the ones who fight for freedom as well. I'll kill them all even if it kills me. I don't have a home, a family or a country to not die for it. At least I can be happy with that." Alfera stared at tje chains on her hands. Touching her neck like feeling a familiar shackle on it. Remembering terrible memories. She looked up at the three when distributing the last statement, a bittersweet smile on her face. Eren felt bad for her on what she's gone through. Erwin shook his head and leaned against a chair while Levi was speechless. Until.

"Then you'll be custody over me. Like him." He pointed Eren and went back to the girl. "Is that clear?"

"Yes sir." She deadpanned.

"Well that settles it. See you in trial Miss Alfera. Oh and by the way don't mind the one wearing glasses okay?" Erwin said the first and second statement but Levi said the last one.

"Why?" Alfera questionably looked at Eren who in return just gave a good luck look at her in which never helped seal her curiosity. Until a weird bang rang through her ears. She looked up at the knew visitor whose face was excited and happy, sweaty and red.

"Are you the new shifter?" The stranger huffed.

"Huh?" Alfera tilts her head in confusion.

"Don't worry. Everything will be alright okay?" Smiled the stranger. The prisoner felt a bit worried but happy for someone that reassures her safety. "Oh and my name's Hanji nice to meet you."

"Um... Alfera it's very nice to meet you, Captain Hanji." She saluted. Her index and middle on her head. Hanji looked quite surprised that she salutes like that.

"You do have manners! Oh and we don't salute like that." Hanji smiled.

"Then ho-" Alfera was cutted off.

"No time. And I hope all goes well! And don't worry we're fighting to have you on our side!" Hanji beamed at her.

"Thank goodness. Thank you." Alfera nodded and sighed in relief. Then all went back to normal. The Garrisons just guard her cell while she's just lying down, bored and tired. Until the trial came. Alfera was surprised that she was under a courthouse. When the doors opened, her heart stopped. Many people were buzzing around until she came. They looked at her as if she were a monster. She fell silent and obeyed. She was chained in to a long metal bar in the middle. The judge, Dalis Zackley, arrived. (I don't know what Zackley says in the beginning but I'll skip to the good part.)

[Alfera's P.O.V.]

"Let's begin. Eren Jeager's report states that: You came out of nowhere and saved a soldier from being killed by an abnormal? Is that true, Miss. Alfera?"

Zackley furrowed.

"Yes, that's true." I nodded cautiously.

"Then why protect him?!" A priest accused me.

"I just can't let the man die." I almost snarled my answer. Damn these people don't have any common sense!

"You should have! They waste a lot of-" a man yelled at me but I cut him off.

"Of what? Taxes? Food? Cadets? Supplies? At least give them your thanks! They've done everything they could for mankind. Even making choices that pays more. While you guys, the Military Police, what do you guys do when you have free time? Eat. Drink. Slack off. Hire whores. Well congratulations, you fucking did it! It's official you guys are damn pigs who lives in th protection of walls and luxurious homes. You belong to a damn pigsty that's for sure!" I growled. Insult dripping through my mouth until a kick was sent to the side of face in which it damn well hurt!

"I think words won't educate you. Brute force does imply." Levi grabbed a fistful of my ebony locks and stared intently in my brown eyes. Damn well it does work! In fact, the Military swine just shut the hell up. At least that made me satisfy my grudge.

"I would like to apply her to the Survey Corps. In Corporal Levi's custody. And she would help us a lot like Eren Jeager. That's all." Erwin raised his hand and suggested. That made my jaw dropped. Zacklay turned to me then to Eren the to Erwin and back to me. Zacklay agreed that I am accepted to be with them.
