Part 1: Khuyii

1998

It had been a week since Garmiya gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and both mother and daughter were now in "Gomtisadan".

As it was fixed earlier, today was our little angel's naming ceremony. Everyone was busy with last minute preparations while our little boy was busy admiring his new doll.

He just couldn't take his eyes off this small creature as it was his first time seeing a baby. Now he just hoped that no one would call him chottee and that his soft cheeks would be safe from everyone's attacks.

Suddenly the baby moved a little, alerting  Arnav, '' Aleee.. No.. No pincess (princess). I won't let anyone pull youl (your) cheeks. If needed they can pull my cheek but I will not allow anyone to hult (hurt) you.''

Little baby smiled in her sleep as if she believed him.

Ratan came there and asked ''Chottee. Now you need to go home and get ready quickly. Guests will begin arriving at any time. Now gooo.''

But Arnav wasn't ready to go from there. 

''Chotte, I'm not asking you to go to Himachal beta. Our house is only a floor above. So go, get ready and come quickly before she wakes up.'' Ratna said, narrowing her eyes and this time Arnav quietly left to get ready.

''So, Madhumati what do you want to name your niece?'' asked Arnvind.

Madhumati smiled looking at the baby lying comfortably on Arnav's lap. She didn't fail to notice Arnav who was looking at her with his pleading eyes.

She remembered their morning conversation. 

Flashback 

''Bu jiii.. Bu jiiii. Sunooo na. ( aunt.. aunt.. listen to me)'' Little Arnav was following Madhumatin while Madhumati was busy making sweets for the function.

''Aree. Kya hua babua? ( what happened son?)'' Buaji asked, annoyed with his continuous nagging. 

''Will you listen to my one request?'' Arnav asked.

''Kya request babua? (What request ) You've already annoyed me enough now go and play outside. Let me finish my work.'' Buaji replied, annoyed.

''Please na Bu jii. Only one request. After that I won't ask for anything else. Promise... pakka wala promise.'' Arnav said, pinching his throat.

Buaji now looked at him seriously. She put her work aside and asked ''Kya hua Babua? Kaisi pareshai hai tumko?(what happened son? What is the problem? )''

''Bu ji, Mumma told me that you will be the one to name the  baby. Really?'' Arnav asked. 

Buaji nodded her head and said '' Haan. Hum denge hamri titliya ka naam jaise Payal ka dia tha. Waise hi.( yes. I will give my butterfly a beautiful name the same way I have named Payal )''

''Bu ji.. Will you please allow me to name the little baby. I promise, I will give her a beautiful name. You will love it. But please, let me do it.'' Arnav pleaded. 

End of flashback 

''Nahi Arnvind bhaia.I will not name her.'' Madhumati declared. 

''What? But why jiji?'' Ratna asked. 

''Because I want Arnav babua to give my titliya a beautiful name?'' Buaji said smilingly, making Arnav dance in happiness. 

''Toh babua. Now tell us what you will name her?'' Buaji asked. 

''Khuyii. Her name will be Khuyii.'' Arnav declared. 

''Ye kaisa naam huya Arnav? (What type of name is this, Arnav?'' Shashi asked as no one understood his given name.
