𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐

It's been a few days since you arrived. You loved it here, the ocean was so beautiful. But you noticed something off about Neteyam. He doesn't talk to you much anymore or tease you. It got you thinking, did you do something to piss him off so bad? When you and Neteyam argued you guys always talked it out after. You didn't argue with him, so why was he being so distant? 

"Neteyam!" You yelled running toward him. He just got out of the ocean and was stepping onto the shore. Neteyam stopped when you stood right in front of him. "Hm?" He hummed, his gaze refusing to look at yours. "You've been really distant lately. Is there something wrong?" You asked with a worried expression. "Yes, there is something wrong." He mumbles. "What is it?" You questioned. "It's silly," he says before moving past you. "Hey! Wait!" You run and grab his shoulder. He looks back at you. "When something upsets you, it's never silly," You reassured. 

"Well this time it is," He says. Right when he's about to walk away you grab his wrist. He looks from his wrist to you. "I don't care if it's silly. Okay?" Neteyam paused. He was torn on wether to tell you or not. 

"Fish lips," he just muttered before walking away. You stood there, watching him walk away. Fish lips? What the fuck? Who the fuck was fish lips- oh. Ao'nung? Why is he so upset about Ao'nung? You sighed before walking into the Sully families Mauri. You grabbed a snack and ate it. You were really hungry now. You heard footsteps and shot your head back, startled. "Woah there," Lo'ak commented putting his hands up. "Oh, it's just you,"

"Yeah," Lo'ak walks toward you. "What'cha doing?" He asks. "Eating," you replied. "You look frustrated." Lo'ak voiced. "I am," "why?" You paused. You didn't know if you should tell Lo'ak, he might make it worse. But whatever. "Neteyam," Lo'ak's ears flicked up and so did his tail. "What about... Neteyam?" He implored. "He's been acting so weird recently, he won't talk to me," You told, looking at the floor now. Before Lo'ak could speak you cut him off. "And when I asked him why he was upset, he said fishlips. So I thought he meant Ao'nung. And I get why he could be mad at Ao'nung becuase you know? He bullies y'all but what does that have to do with me?" You ranted. 

"Good question," Lo'ak said. The duo thought about it for a moment. Until a thought popped up in Lo'ak. Neteyam got jealous of you and Ao'nung. But that means he liked you. Lo'ak didn't know why but the thought of Neteyam liking you made his heart drop. He didn't know why becuase he didn't like you. Right? (mmmmh don't we just luv drama) Lo'ak thought about it for a while. 

"Got anything?" You asked. "Nope," he lied. "I have a plan though," Lo'ak told. "What is it?" You begged, looking in his eyes. "I ask him what's wrong and he tells me," "Well that's oddly simple," You smiled. "Yeah, I'll go find him now, I'll tell you what happens." He says running out of the mauri. "Word for word!" You yell. He put a thumbs up.

It didn't take long for Lo'ak to run into his brother. "Neteyam!" He called, waving his hands around. Neteyam turned to look at his brother running at him. "What do you want skxawng?" He answered. "Yo, why have you been so distant toward Y/n?" He interrogated. "None of your business," "Oh come on. Don't be like that. I told you when I used to like Y/n remember? Now you owe me." It was true, 3 years ago Lo'ak had the biggest crush on you.

"Fine," Neteyam agreed. "Her and Ao'nung. Ao'nung is to touchy towards her. I don't want to get replaced but they're already bonding. She asks him for multiple favors too!" Neteyam ranted. "So you like her?" Neteyam's ears flicked. "What? No." He blatantly  lied. "Then why are you getting jealous?" "Becuase I don't want to get replaced. We grew up with her and it feels like her and Ao'nung have known each other for years. I just want my own best friend," Neteyam frowns. "Damn, couldn't relate-" "shut your ass up." Neteyam interrupted. "Don't tell her what I said though," Neteyam ordered. "Yes sir," Lo'ak joked as he started walking away.
