Days had passed from jade and bucky in the closet but she had felt so guilty about what she did. even though they weren't officially a thing she felt bad because he wanted to work things out but how long does that mean for her to wait?

the mornings had started the same for her recently woke up at 6:30 not able to sleep after the procedure and just because so much was on her mind. she gets up and changed into running clothes would pull back her hair and go outside. she would run for an hour trying to blow off some steam and every time she comes back she tries to sneak back into the house without making conversation.

she felt so low in her life. she was upset and tired. frustrated and confused. she woke up that morning the same as every other day. she pulled out an all-black workout set and threw that one. she walked into her bathroom looking at herself in the mirror wondering what was wrong with her. nothing was her fault in these situations. would steve be mad at what she had done yes but no one can be more upset at her than herself. she shook the thought out of her head and put her hair up.

socks and sneakers on she left her room. before leaving she grabbed her water bottle and headed out. she listened to music through her headphones and instantly felt like breaking down. she cut her run short and walked back. her head down watching her feet moving and the world moving underneath her.

she heard voices when she came back. it was nat, sam, bucky, yelena, and mj. all eating breakfast. mj had asked if she was hungry but jade kindly said no thanks and that she was going to shower. so she did. she waited for the elevator as it stopped the floor to open there she saw steve she felt that she might have not been aware of her emotions and her eyes were out of her head and quickly back in. he moved to the side to let her in. gesturing her with his head to come on in.

"you going up?"

"huh?"

"up? you going to your room?"

"oh yeah! i am yeah! sorry"

he pressed the button waiting for her floor which just felt like forever.

"you going to eat breakfast?"jade asked

"yeah i haven't eaten yet"

"oh well I think mj is making pancakes so lucky you!"

she sounded a bit sarcastic and regretted it a bit but was glad about the way her tone sounded. she had reached her floor and left him a kind smile

"see ya!"

he smiled back saying nothing they both wished things could just not be awkward and got back to the way they used to be. but it wasn't.

-after her shower-

nat had knocked on her door and came in and sat in her bed.

"so...what's going on talk to me you haven't told me anything and you've been hiding in this cave of yours only to get food and or go on runs! we all miss you eating with us and watching tv! so talk to me!"

she walked over to her standing behind her as jade sat in her chair on her desk looking at both of them through the mirror in front of them. nat started to brush her hair and braid it.

"i don't know! Steve doesn't want anything as of right now and I think our friendship is fucked. he sat in here the other day just talking and he had valid reasons for what he was saying. so yeah I was upset but I knew it was okay because sure we weren't dating and that means we can see other people until we are ready and am I yeah! of course I am! but he feels this way and I have to respect him. but I fucked up worse and nat I don't know what I was thinking I wasn't thinking I feel like such an idiot i just-"
