4. ALHAITHAM.

↷ NO MATTER HOW FAR WE ARE. ♡

You opened the door of yours and Alhaitham's house to see a wonderful sight. There were books scattered all over the place and you knew who else than your own husband was responsible for this. 

Although when you said you would be over your sibling's place for two days, you never thought these days would be the day he also would take an off from work. You were astonished at the mess he had caused.

"ALHAITHAM. WHERE ARE YOU." You shout angrily but no response. Finally you found him sleeping so soundly on the couch with a book on his face. You noticed that he had his headphones connected to his music player. 

You took the book off his face and due to the light hitting his face, he slowly opened his eyes and looked at you. "You're back my dear?" 

You had a slightly irritated look on your face. He instantly realized what it was about and got up from the couch. He ran his fingers through his hair.

"Thank you for getting up now please clean this if you may." You said as you sighed and dropped your bag.

You decided to get into your shared room and take a shower. You wondered why Alhaitham chose to sleep in an uncomfortable couch. That was unusual of him. 

As you twist and turn open the knob of your door, you saw a little puppy run towards you. You were so confused how a puppy got in there but it was an adorable little one. 

You heard Alhaitham chuckle from behind as he picked up books.

"Alhaitham—?" You called out your husband as you caught the little puppy in your arms and carried him around. 

"I heard that you wanted a puppy but was afraid that I would make a fuss about it. I figured out that getting a new puppy might perhaps be a better gift." 

Gift? What day was it today? You had no idea what was so special today but you took a glance at the calendar and noticed today was 14th of February. Realization hit you too late.

"Happy Valentine's day, my dear wife." Alhaitham said as he stacked the books back to the shelves. 

The puppy kept snuggling you close and you stood there slightly emotional. Alhaitham turned around to see your teared up eyes. 

"Are you...not happy?" He asked in a gentle tone with concern and walked up to you, holding you chin up as his grey irises looked into yours with concern.

"Thank you Alhaitham." You said as let the puppy down and hugged him tightly. 

He was slightly shocked but he patted the back of your hair and hugged you back.

"I should be the one to thank you. You showed me a world outside knowledge and books." 

END.

BONUS: 

The puppy was named 'Merry' by the two of you. From what you've noticed Merry doesn't like Alhaitham being around you and would do anything to remain close to you.

Alhaitham on the other hand remained competitive to a little puppy....it is the very same reason he slept on the couch that day. Merry kept biting and nibbling on the books he had.
