6. PANTALONE.

↷ WE MAY BE FAR, BUT OUR LOVE IS CLOSE. ♡

❝I really, really, REALLY miss you right now.❞

"So did you like the gifts I sent you? I think they suit you very well." Pantalone said as he continued to sign papers and review them, even on such a special day. 

Not to forget this man wasn't even in the SAME ROOM as you. He was all the way in Fontaine for business work. You video called him to see how he was doing, as you wanted to check on him. 

"Really? I haven't even opened them. They arrived an hour ago so I thought why not open with you." You said as you picked up the parcel box that had arrived earlier and showed it to him on the camera.

He placed his pen down and rest his chin on his hand. He held a wide grin on his face, making you feel slightly tensed.  Of course, HE WAS WEALTHY but you didn't want him to spend money on such trivial gifts. 

"How much did you spend this year dear?" You tried asking in a sweet gentle tone although the man clearly felt the aggressive questioning tone from you.

"Less than twenty five million mora, I believe. I don't remember, if I'm being honest." He said as he adjusted his spectacles and pretended like it was all fine.

In reality you were horrified and your hands were trembling. He still kept smiling like an idiot, not realizing you were close to losing your only consciousness.

"WHAT! No I'm not...I'VE TOLD YOU NOT TO GET ME EXPENSIVE GIFTS!" You said as you shouted in the mic. He pulled one of his earpieces out due to how loud you shouted at him.

"What am I supposed to say, you are like a shinning gem to me. All the gifts that I present you are nothing but a bunch of dull jewels that cannot make up to your worth." 

"Don't even try coaxing me with words..."

"Just open it." He said as he reassured you once more. You gulped nervously and opened the package carefully.

As you opened the package, you saw it was filled with flowers and a box right in the center which had a card with a wholesome message written on it.

"The flowers are called Purple Iris, a flower that is unique to Fontaine. They were quite expensive when I had to export them but I couldn't let such a chance slide away as they reminded me of you." Pantalone said as he chuckled at your expression.

"The flowers are so pretty..." You mumbled loud enough for him to hear as you gently tended them. 

"I don't think they are as pretty as you my love." He instantly remarked. You only looked at him and laughed.

The other box was filled with assorted sweets and local specialties of Fontaine. You only smiled and looked back at him.

"A pity that I am having to be so far away from you even during this day. " He said as he sighed. 

You only blinked at him. "Won't you be coming back in three days?" 

"I would but three days feel like an eternity to me. I realize how much of a bore life is without you." He replied back. You then understood he was being homesick. 

"If you really miss me that much, come back soon! I'm going to store these sweets away and once you're back, let's have them together. You know...I'm kinda missing you too." You said the last part in a mumbled tone, trying to hide your flustered self. 

Pantalone was a little astonished when he heard that. The sudden change of mood you had from how you were scolding him a while ago and now you said you were missing him. You weren't the flirty one in the relationship after all. 

 He only laughed and assured you that he'd return exactly in seventy-two hours from now.

"You are the only person to make me sane enough, Y/n. Thank you for being with me. Words or mora cannot describe how much I love you."

BONUS:

When Pantalone returned back home he saw how you placed the Purple Iris flowers he had sent a few days ago,  all over the house in a neatly managed way. He saw you were asleep on the couch reading a bunch of books...on parenting? 

He didn't think much of it but when you told him the truth that you were expecting with him....he collapsed and fainted on the spot, knowing this was the biggest gift he has ever received.
