Elliot's POV
"Psst, Elliot wake up", "Elliot come on, wake up"
"He's not waking up, what do you want me to do?"
"You're not trying hard enough just shake him a bit"
"Ok, but I didn't want to scare him when he opens his eyes"
I was shaken awake and now face to face with Charlie leaning over me.
"What the hell man? What do you want?" I say. I was squinting my eyes in the dark trying to look at him. It was dark outside with only the moon shining through the window for some light. Braxton stood behind him and gave me a wave like nothing is happening.
"Come on, we're going out" Charlie pulls my arm to get me up and out of bed. I pull away from him, but he doesn't let go.
"What, why, where are we even going? Also what time is it?" I ask.
"Quit asking questions and just come on. We're all going and it's only 1 am" he pulls me once more and this time I let him. I get my feet on the floor and shiver a bit at the coolness. All the other beds are empty with the others shuffling around and grabbing some things.
"Oh, you're awake. Grab what you want to bring, but you don't really need anything" Evan says, glancing over at me. He had a small backpack that he was putting stuff in.
"Seriously, I'm so lost. Where are we going?" I ask once more. I swear, are we running away? If so, maybe I don't mind. Wouldn't phase me if I never went home anyways.
"Relax, we're just going on a little nighttime adventure" Axel pats my shoulder and hands me a flashlight. "Don't turn it on yet, we don't want them to know we're awake"
A little nighttime adventure. So not running away. We're not supposed to leave anyways, what if they catch us? No, no thank you, I'm good. I'll stay here. I told myself I would keep my head down at this camp and that's what I'll do.
"Alright, let's go. We're wasting time now" Evan turns towards us and nods towards the door.
"I'm not going, you guys can" I hold the flashlight out for them to take. No one does.
"You're coming with us Elliot" Evan rolls his eyes. I shake my head. I try to hint at him looking into his eyes. I really don't want to do this.
"You guys go ahead and go, we'll meet you there," he says. Please not we. I can feel my heartbeat. Why do they want me to come with them so badly, Charlie won't even tell me where. Everyone continues out the door quietly before shutting it behind them. Evan waits till they're gone and turns toward me.
"Come with us. We're not going to murder you in the woods if that's what you're worried about" he jokes. Wish I could've laughed, but I couldn't.
"I don't want to, that's all" I almost whisper. Evan gave me a somewhat knowing look.
"Elliot, I told you I would teach you how to have fun this summer and I will. I promise Mr. Tit's stupid ass won't get you" I chuckled at the silly name he gave him. I still don't want to go though.
"If it makes you feel better we're going to the lake nearby. I didn't want to say anything because I figured it would be a cool little surprise. We do this all the time to go hang out"
"I don't know Evan, I've never done stuff like this before"
"That's ok, first time for everything. Let's go, they're probably there by now and we're wasting time still. Your coming and I'm not giving you a choice" he smiles. He grabs my wrist and leads me over to the door.
