Angst time
Jack had been dreading sleep for weeks. Every night, he lay awake, unable to shake the haunting images of the fight with Tommy from his mind. But tonight was different. Tonight, as he drifted off to sleep, he was pulled into a nightmare that was all too real.
In his dream, he was back in the room with Tommy. They were arguing, and the tension in the air was palpable. Jack could feel his anger building, and before he knew it, he had shoved Tommy hard, causing him to fall to the ground. Tommy's head hit the floor with a sickening thud, and he lay there, motionless.
Jack stood there, frozen in shock and horror, as the reality of what he had just done sank in. He tried to help Tommy up, but he wouldn't move. Panic set in as Jack realized the severity of the situation. He began to hyperventilate, and he felt his heart pounding in his chest.
He tried to call for help, but his voice wouldn't work. He was paralyzed, both physically and emotionally. He was consumed by guilt and regret, and he knew that he had made a mistake that he could never take back.
Suddenly, he was jolted awake, his heart racing and his body covered in a cold sweat. He lay there in the darkness, breathing heavily, trying to calm himself down. But he knew that he wouldn't be able to shake the nightmare from his mind for a long time to come. The thought that he could have killed his friend was too much to bear, and he felt himself sinking deeper and deeper into despair.
Jack Manifold had been struggling with guilt and shame ever since the tragic incident that took Tommy's life. The memory of his friend's death had haunted him every waking moment, and he found himself struggling to cope with the overwhelming emotions.
As the weeks went on, Jack's mental state began to deteriorate. He was plagued by vivid, disturbing dreams and found himself unable to focus on anything else. But it wasn't until he began experiencing hallucinations that he realized how far he had fallen.
One day, as he was walking through his empty mansion, on a particulary late night in which Maxggs wasn't home, he caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye. He turned to look, but there was nothing there. He shook his head, thinking he was just tired or imagining things.
But as he continued walking, the image appeared again. This time, it was clearer - a silhouette of a person lying on the ground. Jack's heart began to race as he realized that the figure looked like Tommy.
He tried to shake the image from his mind, but it was like a ghost haunting him. Every time he turned a corner, he saw it - the lifeless body of his friend, lying on the ground. He could see the blood pooling around his head, and he could hear his own voice, crying out in panic.
As the hallucinations continued, Jack's mental state continued to spiral out of control. He became increasingly isolated and withdrawn, unable to distinguish reality from his own tortured mind.
Then he felt it.
A hand on his shoulder.
He cried out, "oh gods, please, no, I'm sorry Tommy-"
"Jack?"
It was Maxggs.
He was really worried about Jack. He was concerned. Jack was teary eyed and he was shaking really badly.
"Jack? Are you with me?"
Jack Manifold wrapped his arms around Maxggs. He cried and cried into Maxggs shoulder.
"Tubbo had an improtant Tubnet meeting to go to so I had to leave and come back earlier than I planned, did anything happen? I heard you say Tommy's name...did you have a nightmare again?" Max asked. Jack nodded.
He sighed. "I saw Tommy again. He's here."
Maxggs shook his head. "No he's not."
"I saw him"
"You didn't."
Jack fell quiet. He didn't see Tommy. He had a guilt and ptsd induced hallucination of his dead body on the floor of his mansion that Maxggs bought him. He sighed.
"Hey, it's okay," Max said softly, as he gently rubbed Jack's back. "I know this is really hard, but I'm here for you. You don't have to go through this alone."
Jack's tears flowed freely as he clung to Max. "I just can't stop seeing it," he whispered hoarsely. "I can't get the image out of my mind. I keep seeing Tommy's body, and it feels like it's haunting me."
Max listened attentively and offered words of support and encouragement. He reminded Jack that he was a good person who made a mistake, and that it was okay to feel grief and sadness. He also encouraged Jack to continue seeking professional help and to lean on his friends and family for support.
Slowly, Jack's breathing began to calm, and he felt the warmth and comfort of Max's embrace. He knew that he still had a long road ahead of him, but he also knew that he wasn't alone. With Max by his side, he felt a glimmer of hope that he could eventually find peace and healing.
