Oh, Mikey knew.

He knew he would be fucked if Draken could not be there with him.

Mikey was doing all the things he told Draken he would never do. He said he would change, even though he knew he never could, but Draken never gave up on Mikey, even after all he had done.

After many losses, it became increasingly difficult to trust anyone, but Mikey would never hesitate to trust Draken, the one person who knew him so well and who never let him down, never abandoned him.

Ryuguji Ken was someone completely different.

Normal people would run and stay away from someone as troublesome as Mikey, but Draken... insisted until the last second. He didn't want to give up on Mikey.

He knew he was lucky to have someone like Draken by his side. He knew that he couldn't find anyone as amazing as Draken. There would never be anyone as amazing as him. And there would never be anyone who could replace him.

He just didn't want to mess things up and involve Draken in unnecessary confusion of his troubled and turbulent life but, at the same time, he couldn't let Draken go.

He didn't want Draken to leave.

Even if Mikey tried his best to forget Draken. When he was away from him, all that was left there was that Mikey still missed him, missed his touch. He was the only one who could calm his mind and make everything okay. Draken was the real and only reason to believe in love and to believe that there would always be someone waiting for Mikey.

And this someone was Draken.

This is why Mikey wanted Draken to stay.

— Kenchin... — He was drunk, and would probably regret everything he did the next day, but he felt relieved when Draken appeared and took him to the old Sano family house, which used to be full of joy and now looked like a haunted house, without a single light there. — Please stay. Stay with me, I don't think I can be alone tonight. — Mikey grabbed Draken's arm. The alcohol was messing with his head and he felt sleepy. — Will you sleep with me? I know how that sounds, I mean... I feel safe when you're here and I don't have nightmares.

— Don't worry. I'll be here the whole night, okay? — Draken's voice was so calm that it was able to cause goosebumps throughout Mikey's body. The blond felt Draken hugging him completely in that small bed. — Nothing will happen while I'm here. I promise.

Mikey finally slept, feeling Draken's warm breath against his face. It was nights like these, when the two of them slept together, that Mikey felt happy and completely safe in the arms of the person he loved most in the world.

Even if Mikey did all the things he had told Draken he would never do again or when he said he would change even if he couldn't change, he knew Draken would stay.

Because he was the only person Mikey wanted to stay there, by his side, now and forever.
