Alastor POV~

I stood at attention just a few feet away at the bottom of the steps, that felt larger than life. Dreading finding out the reason for my summons. Drifting away into the depths of my mind and thinking back to this morning's bothersome shenanigans. I could feel my brows knitting together as my expression soured with annoyance. Clenching my fist so tightly, my knuckles start turning white. My patience was terribly short on this day.

Feeling a death chill down my spine. "Excuse you!" The queen's voice boomed throughout the room. "Have I offended you in some way, Alastor?" Asking with an expectation for an answer. Quickly my focus shifted in an instant. She looked over her shoulder at my much younger demon self. A scowl that dares kill even Lucifer himself. Slamming the open book in her hands shut. Putting all her attention onto me.

Kneeling down, I respond quickly: "My apologies, your Majesty." Hoping I do not meet her wrath today or any day.

Crossing her arms, "Well, boy, should I ask my question again?" She spoke firmly, looking down her nose. Her gaze is soul crushing.

"No, ma'am, you do not have to repeat yourself." I was quick to answer, keeping my head down. "Being summoned by one such as yourself," I clenched my fist firmly, "is truly a great honor. For a demon of my rank." I could feel her guests' eyes pierce my flesh with judgmental and gleeful smirks of hatred.

Their snickers of amusement were heard clearly. "SILENCE!" Queen Lilith commanded the room. Throwing the book in her hand into the throat of the loudest demon. Promptly silencing anyone else in the room. Everyone was frozen in place by fear. Pinching the bridge of her nose, "Everyone out. Now!" Motioning with a flick of the wrist. "Everyone... but you, Alastor." The tone of her voice is low and menacing.

Once everyone scurried away, the room fell eerily silent. While tension grew between us, Lilith soon appeared in front of me and lifted my chin up with a delicate claw. Making sure my eyes looked at her. "Alastor." Lilith sighed heavily, "What am I to do with you?" She asked not wanting an answer. Eyeing me, she almost looked disappointed. "You were once a great torturer. You've trained some of my best warriors." Lilith took methodical steps around me. Her words drained the life from my veins. "You don't sleep around or have a partner. You will never be a consort of mine." She gagged at the thought. Her words were extra cruel today.

I stayed completely still, void of emotion, wishing this would all be over soon. As I began to slip into dark thoughts. A sharp slap to my cheek pulled me right back into this harsh reality. Lilith grabbing me by the throat. Tightly squeezing as she brings me nose to nose with her. "Listen here young man. I have been incredibly tolerant of," Her anger seething through each word, "Whatever has become of you, child." Looking down at me once more. "I feel, I've been more than lenient enough with you." Lilith stood tall over me with disgust. "Even more so than I have with any other." Her words calm, yet stern, as she released her hold. Walking back to her desk in thought. Each step she took was more graceful than the last.

I coughed rubbing my throat, lungs breathing in harder, struggling for air. "Then if I am such a disappointment your Majesty. Why keep me as a part of your personal guard?" I asked knowing that speaking out of turn could very well be my last.

Turning back to me with her index finger placed ever so gently on her cheek. Her brow cocked up in surprise from my brazen bravado. "Well then, that is an excellent question my boy." Lilith spoke more softly, treating me as if I were a baby to be punished for misbehaving. "Perhaps I am no longer in need of your service as a guard then?" She pondered aloud with mild frustration. "Then what will I do with you?" Leaning forward she hissed in my ear. Her brows furrow and her eyes turn to slits.

I felt a numbing chill down my spine and a hard lump in my throat. "T-Then." I paused for a moment to think of an answer. "Then I shall go-" I tried to answer.

Cutting me off, "Yes. Yes I think you should go." Lilith sighed heavily as she walked away from me. "Go. Figure yourself out. I can not be bothered to bloody deal with other's problems. When I must rule kingdoms." She spoke ice laced words, placing a gentle hand on her desk. Looking over her shoulder to the young demon before her. "Just leave." Her eyes briefly looked pained, and within a blink they were emotionless.

I nodded, turning to leave, pain in my chest growing. My breathing hitched, caught in my lungs. Thoughts ran through me like the fires of anger.

Before I knew it Cozbi was there with me, walking shoulder to shoulder with me. Chatting aimlessly about torture and others she has fucked. We both stare off into the distance blankly. Walking the black stone path towards the doorway. Passing blooming red leaf trees. Their leaves fall with a somber grace. For the first time in an eternity, I didn't know what to say to my friend. Solemnly listening to her cheerfully arrogant voice for what feels like the last time.

Glancing above to the entrance at the grand black doors, decorated with the chard bones of the damned. The hyperactive siren jumped. Hugging me tightly around the neck. Any mortal would've been dead. Punching me in the arm as hard as she could. "If you need anything sweet chuckle fuck." Leaning forward as she teased. "Just remember about this fabulous ass down in hell! Okay!" Skipping away quickly with a big goofy smile. "We will be awaiting your miraculous return, Al!" All I could do was roll my eyes. Clearly trying to make my exile less sad. Being her usual extra self. Getting on my nerves was her best talent.

Just before walking away, I looked at Cozbi with stern seriousness. "Don't be causing more unnecessary chaos and havoc while I am away. I can't save you from the maids anymore." I placed a hand on the door, cracking it open. "Got it! You are absolutely off your rocker spazzy cuddlefuck! They will kill you, you hear me!" Leaving before she could get the last word in for once. Snickering weakly imagining her response to absolute audacity. Daring to get the last word in for a change.

Popping out of the shadows in an alleyway, on the other side. Taking a moment to look around at what will be my new home. Allowing for my eyes to adjust to the bright sun. Clear bright blue sky now overhead. Then all at once glaring eyes surrounded. Appearing from the shadows intensely and unwavering. Watching closely as if I was their prey. "Well fuck." Slipped from my lips, a curl in the corner of my lips.
