Chapter 13: Interest in Fuinjutsu?

Nawaki, who had gone to the kitchen alone, returned and a feast was served.

Mito, Tsunade, and Kushina were all in the main room as plates and plates of different specialties were placed on the table.

Nawaki sat next to his Sis. Deep in his heart, he was grateful that it wasn't his Sis who made the food. Not that she was the worst cook in the world, but she always left something a little burnt.

He would still eat, but since Granny Mito returned, it was good to eat something delicious.

"Smells so good~" Kushina salivated a little and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.

While coming to Leaf village, she and Mito didn't eat something that looked so tasty.

Nawaki took the initiative: "Thanks for the food." He thanked her with clasped hands.

"Thanks for the dattebane food!" She did the same as Nawaki, but when she realized what she had just said at the end, she blushed.

Seeing that no one seemed to care, and noticing that Nawaki had started to get food for him, Kushina did the same.

"It's good to be young." Mito laughed gently. She also thanked him before starting to eat.

Tsunade felt emotional. It's been a while since it was just her and Nawaki who ate together. She even felt that the food was better than usual when she started to eat.

For the first two minutes, they ate in silence.

Mito wiped her mouth lightly with her napkin and looked at Nawaki, "Nawaki, I heard you refused to graduate early, can you tell me your reason?"

She didn't seem to be wanting to scold him or anything, it was just genuine curiosity. Before she left the Village, Nawaki showed great interest in becoming a Genin soon, hence her curiosity.

"Mmm?" Nawaki swallowed a piece of sweet and sour pork. Looking at his grandmother, he replied, "I thought I wasn't ready to shoulder the responsibility of becoming a ninja. Sis also thinks the same."

"Ara? Quite mature of you." She smiled and asked with more interest, "Young people tend to be reckless and die early. Your grandfather did the possible and the impossible so that young people don't have to worry about something like war at such a young age." She sighed softly, "Grandma agrees with your choice."

"Errr." Kushina drew everyone's attention to her. Seeing that they looked at her, she pretended to cough, clearing her throat, "Mito-sama, isn't it better to become a ninja asap?"

"No!" Tsunade ended up raising her voice. Getting a little embarrassed by her action, and seeing that she scared Kushina, she smiled awkwardly and said, "Little Kushina, I know many think like you. It's quite normal, as many young people even younger than you and Nawaki even participate in the war, but you have to understand. Things are not that simple."

"What do you mean dattebane?" She still didn't understand, but she felt her heart beat faster when she saw the seriousness in Tsunade's voice.

"To understand my point, you have to understand what I think." Tsunade said, "To understand, I'm going to ask you a question."

"Okay." Kushina nodded.

"In a hypothetical situation, you have to kill a 300 cm bear using a kunai. This bear is much stronger than a Genin, almost as strong as a Chunin ninja. You have 3 years to kill the bear. Which one will you choose; 1st without training, and go try to kill the bear? 2nd Train until you think it's enough and try to kill the bear? 3rd train for the 3 years you were allowed to train and then kill the bear?"

Kushina looked thoughtful.

Tsunade didn't rush her, she even went back to eating.

Nawaki and Mito understood Tsunade's intention and were silent as they ate.

Kushina didn't think she was fearful, if danger knocked at her door, she thought she would fight back, but... Why run after danger when she has the option to wait?

'Wait!' She seemed to have noticed something.

She felt like she had some sort of epiphany.

Kushina's look of surprise made Tsunade ask with a smile, "Have you got your answer yet?"

"I don't know if I'm wrong, but..." Kushina swallowed her saliva: "Basically, every action has a reaction, is that it? So if my action is to take a risk without training, I'm almost 100% sure I'll die. If I'm confident after training for a few months and trying, there's at least a 50% chance that I'll get injured, or even die. But if I train for three years, I would have a better chance of survival and be able to complete the mission I was given, is that it?"

"Yes, you are right." Mito was the one who replied with a gentle smile: "It's something my husband thought too. If you gave young people time to train, there would not be so many deaths of talented young people."

"I see..." Kushina asked with some expectation, "So then... If I train hard and don't risk recklessly, can I be as amazing as Mito-sama?"

"Hahaha!" Mito laughed heartily. She found this little girl adorable. She smiled gently as she reached for Kushina's head and she closed one of her eyes: "Your potential is even better than mine. In time I have no doubt that you will be able to not only be like me but surpass me~!"

"I will do it dattebane!" Kushina was very excited, she gave a big smile showing her beautiful white teeth while her eyes were closed.

She felt motivated, she had never felt this motivated before.

She then asked afterward, "By the way, how strong are you, Nawaki?"

"Well." Nawaki looked at Tsunade then at Kushina and replied, "According to Sis, I have the strength of an elite Chunin."

"Wow!" Kushina looked at him full of admiration. "Do you train hard?"

"Yes, every day." Nawaki replied, "I am also learning to circulate my chakra in a more effective way. As I have a lot of chakras, as I learn to control chakra circulation, the more powerful I will be."

"I also have plenty of dattebane chakras!" She asked a little shyly, but with anticipation shining in her blue eyes, "So, so... can I train with you? I also want to learn how to circulate chakra."

Mito also looked at Nawaki, she seemed interested in the answer Nawaki would give.

"I don't see a problem, but." He looked at Mito, "Grandma, you just want to teach her, yes?"

"Smart." She was taken aback, but soon after she smiled, "Yes, I intend to teach her the Uzumaki Clan techniques."

"So, can we learn together?" Nawaki asked with interest: "I really want to learn, but there is no one better than you to teach. And during breaks, I train chakra circulation with Kushina, what do you think?"

"Nawaki, since when have you been interested in Fuinjutsu?" Tsunade was the one who asked.

Looking at her, Nawaki replied, "There's no reason to be surprised. I also carry Uzumaki blood and I think I am quite apt to learn. I already tried it before learning it a few days ago, I didn't find it too difficult and it was even fun."

"Very good." Mito decided: "You don't have classes tomorrow, do you? So, we'll start tomorrow."

"Accordingly." Nawaki nodded.

"Me too!" Having been a little lost before, Kushina soon understood what was going on and raised her hand while shaking it a little.
