need a ride?

"What actually keeps us from just going back home and skipping classes today?", Wooyoung whined, slowly shuffling behind his best friend through the hallways.

"Our teachers", Yeosang said.

"Whyyy? They haven't seen us yet. If we disappeared now they wouldn't know. We could just say we're sick."

A hint of hopefulness was heard in Wooyoung's voice, but got immediately crushed as Yeosang continued to speak.

"Both of us?", annoyed, he turned around to the younger and raised an eyebrow. "Although we were both totally fine yesterday? Very believable, Woo."

With that he walked on with brisk steps, Wooyoung hurriedly following behind him like a puppy.

"But does it really matter? We're just humans. It's really just about surviving if you think about it. Imagine aliens on another planet looking down at us small people right now and laughing their asses off because we're worrying about opinions of teachers who-"

"Were seven hours of sleep not enough for you to sober up?", Yeosang interrupted.

For a second, Wooyoung didn't understand what his friend was trying to say, but quickly his confused self turned into an offended one.

"You little bastard-!!", he yelled and grabbed for Yeosang's arm, but the guy was fast enough to get away from him and ran to their classroom before Wooyoung could catch him.

"And he even has the audacity to smirk at me like that", the boy mumbled angrily and followed the other in normal speed.

To Wooyoung's dismay, he and Yeosang didn't have all classes together, so now he sat on a single table, head supported on hand and more or less listening to his female teacher showing and explaining a chemical experiment.

Her monotone voice was making him sleepy, so he had trouble keeping his eyes open.

One glance towards the clock over the board told him that he only had to endure five more minutes. Five minutes of this dead boring class and he would finally be free.

Unlucky as he was, those five minutes dragged on incredibly long, it seemed like an hour to him.

When eventually the bell rang, he instantly jumped up, threw his stuff into his bag and left the room as the first student.

He headed to the gate in front of the university building to wait for Yeosang. This was their usual place to meet up after class, so they could drive home together.

But for some reason, his friend didn't come.

Fifteen minutes later and Yeosang still wasn't there. Wooyoung started to worry about him. It wasn't common for his best friend to not show up without informing him beforehand.

At this point, most students were already gone and only a few lost ones were still waiting for someone or chilling on the benches near the parking lot.

After looking around one more time and still not seeing him, the boy decided to call his friend.

It didn't take long for him to pick up.

"Bitch, where the fuck are you? I'm waiting", Wooyoung got straight to the point, making sure to show his anger about the situation in his tone of voice.

"Oh my God, I'm sorry, Woo. I totally forgot", Yeosang said sincerely.

Wooyoung couldn't deny the small feeling of relief in his chest that his best friend was apparently alright and nothing bad had happened to him.

"Okay, and where are you now? Still in class?"

"Uhm...", Yeosang stammered. "Not quite."

"Huh?"

"You know... We got a new student in history class and I showed him around a little and now, we gotta do this presentation together, so yeah.."

"What does that mean?", Wooyoung asked, not really knowing if he should keep on waiting for his friend or if said friend had actually ditched him.

"I'm at his right now. Guess I'll be back in the evening or something, so well...you don't have to wait for me anymore."

"Bro, why am I even friends with you?", Wooyoung whined. "Then tell me the pin for your locker, so I can get your car keys and finally drive home. It's cold."

"Uhm... We kinda took my car when we drove to his apartment. Sorry, Woo, but maybe ask someone else to drive you? I don't know, but you're gonna find a solution. See you later-"

And the line was dead.

"Is he serious right now?", Wooyoung said to himself.

How was he supposed to get home? Walk? Never ever. It would take him probably almost an hour and he definitely wasn't wearing warm enough clothes for such a long hike through the cold.

There was one bus that drove every hour, but he just missed it and waiting one more hour wasn't an option. He already felt like an ice cube.

"Need a ride?", someone asked from behind. Wooyoung flinched at the sudden voice and quickly turned towards it.

Frightened at who he saw, he let his backpack fall to the ground and stared at the man.

"Are you so surprised to see me again?", he chuckled, eyes pointing towards the bag on the ground.

Hurriedly, Wooyoung hunched over to pick it back up and slung it over his shoulder.

"Uhm... I- I just didn't expect you to be here", he stuttered, cheeks red from embarrassment. "I mean, aren't you like.. uhm, too old for uni?"

"Where are your manners, Wooyoung? You're right, I am old, but I don't look like it, right?" San pushed himself away from the wall that he was leaning against and walked a little closer to Wooyoung, still smiling politely.

"No no no, you don't! I was just- I'm sorry, oh my god, I mean you look older than me and I'm almost done with uni, so I thought you're probably successfully working somewhere already", the boy babbled and fiddled with his hands in the meantime.

"Well, I didn't have to go to uni to do my profession right now. It was kind of predetermined... Anyway, should I take you home pretty boy or are you going to stay here forever?"
