Perverse Instantiation Part Two (16,2)

As soon as the flame was safely hidden beneath Clarke's flesh, the woman herself fell unconscious, her eyes closed, while her head was pushed back to its upright position by Abby.

"She okay?" Abby pressed her fingers against Clarke's neck, checking for a pulse.

"Her heart's racing," Not a second passed before Clarke began screaming wildly, her body jerking to the sides.

Tyra recognized the movement, almost like a seizure. The same had happened with Lexa around five years ago, only her lips had tightened rather than letting her screams ring out. But Lexa had been more accustomed to the pain than Clarke was.

"Get that thing out of her head."

"No. This is normal. The same thing happened with Lexa when she ascended." Clarke screamed louder, Murphy and Loukas having to hold down her arm, so the needles attached to them didn't wiggle themselves out with all the movement.

"I said, get that thing out of her head!" And as quickly as her screams started they stopped, Clarke rather gently shaking her head to the sides.

"No. No... Not yet."

"Are you in any pain?" Clarke blinked, almost in a dazed state. The same state Tyra had seen Lexa enter into when she became Commander.

"No. I'm okay. I know how to stop A.L.I.E. I have to take the chip."

"What?"

"I have to go into the City of Light and find the kill switch."

"Yeah. That sounds like a great idea." Tyra couldn't tell if Murphy was being either sarcastic or serious. But knowing him, it was most likely the former.

"Clarke, listen to me. A.L.I.E wants the flame. If you take the chip, you're giving it to her. The second someone sees you, A.L.I.E is gonna know that you're there. She'll kill you. If your mind dies, you die." Clarke shook her head, still in her dazed state.

"The flame will protect me. I don't know how I know. I just... know."

"I believe you." Bellamy, against all odds for how he had been so against the chips beforehand, was now sporting one in his hand, ready to give it to Clarke.

He had trusted her thus far, and they still seemed to be alive, so what was one more decision of trust.

"Do you even know what you're looking for?"

"I'll know when I find it." Abby nodded, letting out one last strained sigh before pressing a final kiss to her daughter's forehead.

"May we meet again."

"We will."

"We'll keep you safe." Clarke nodded in thanks before turning to Tyra for her final words to be spoken.

"Stay strong," With those words, Clarke surged forward and took the chip from Bellamy's hand, her eyes falling closed as she dipped back into the chair.

"May the spirits of the Commanders guide you."

After a while of Clarke having disappeared into the City of Light. Tyra had begun to feel the tingling of her arms move all the way to her hands and shoulders, her eyes briefly closing every once in a while as her tender shoulder throbbed.

"How you feeling?" Tyra shrugged as a reply, but it was Loukas who answered to Bellamy's question.

"She's been stabbed over three times, slashed at for many more, and is currently exchanging blood with the Commander of Death. What do you think?" Tyra kicked gently at Loukas side while Bellamy gave her a confused look for her to translate. He only knew a few phrases in Trigedasleng, and Loukas had spoken none of them.
