Vance PoV:

it's been about a month since we were freed from the Grabber, a month since anyone had treated us normally... and a month since we last saw or heard from...

Finney Blake.

apparently Finney made a deal with the Grabber. to take him and let everyone else go. so now i'm spending every night awake to try and free him like he freed us.

the bags under my eyes getting bigger and darker with each passing day, zoning out during class more and more til i can't even hear what the teachers saying, pitying looks casted my way as i walk through the hallways.

Billy and Griffin barely knew Finney, but they're still worried about him. Robin and Bruce on the other hand, loosing sleep, spending nights at my house trying to figure out a plan to get Finney home, and falling asleep during their classes.

Gweny would come over too, can't imagine what she feels like, losing her brother for the second time. he came out of the house gave her a hug but was ripped away when the Grabber came picking him up and shoving him in his van.

the police couldn't catch him in time. now god knows where the Grabber could have possibly taken him-

'guys...' Robin said sitting up straight.

i had started to fall asleep but i opened my eyes and sat up straight next to him. Bruce came over shortly after.

'what?' he asked.

'the Grabber can't have gone far, Finney would have fought. plus the fact he doesn't have a basement anymore,' he said.

'we already know that Robin,' i sigh.

'no but think about it, what if he didn't go far at all, what if he changed the van and actually just went back to the house he lived in,' Robin says turning his head to look at me. 'the police said someone bought it,'

'a person with black hair and green eyes. no mask, plus the Grabber has grey hair and blue eyes,' Bruce said sighing.

'he could've dyed his hair and put in contacts guys seriously. plus! he might've had to get used to his face without the mask so he could hide!' Robin said excitedly.

'he's got a point Bruce,' i say.

'i agree,' he sighs. 'but how are we going to go and ask the man... or women we don't know who owns the house now, if they've kidnapped our friend, politely,' Bruce reasons.

i sigh leaning back in my chair. 'we have to have a proper plan luckily we've been doing that for a while...'

Robin checked his phone.

'oh shit!' he said and ran to the bathroom locking himself in.

'Robin the fuck is it man?' i ask.

i could hear slight sobbing from the other side of the door.

'woah Robin are you okay?' i asked, softening my tone this time.

'look at the date,' Robin said softly.

i went and checked the date in his phone.

fuck...

'what is it?' Bruce asked seeing me bite my lip and force away some tears.

'it's been a month we know that...' Bruce says as politely as he can.

'it's his birthday. Bruce...' i say sadly.
