Third Year,
A Test of Loyalty. The first few class bored the living hell out of her, from falling asleep in her divination class to recapping the potions they did the year before. And now she had to sit through Oliver Wood's quidditch schedule for the next few training sessions.
She wished she had gone with Phoebe to see how Hadrian had settled into Slytherin's house. Fred and George assured her that her brother would be fine she would argue they didn't know him like she did. They didn't know that he is a rather sensitive boy, not the overconfident Slytherin, they believe he would be.
"You think there's any way he wouldn't notice if we weren't here," she whispered to George he chuckled quickly shutting up when Oliver shot them a warning glance.
"Anyways," Oliver drawled "we're in great of a seeker, the player we had last year has lost their confidence after a bad fall practising, now seeker is a position where you need your mind sharp, and alert-
"We know this already, can we go?" Fred interrupted him, he sighed letting them leave, Rhea draped her arm over his and George's shoulders as they left Oliver's meeting.
"So what you say we take a look at Hogsmeade," Rhea grinned as she waited for their response.
"I don't we've ever been there before?"
"No, we haven't Freddie," she teased, "Did anyone bring the map?"
"I'll go get you two go on ahead," George hurried away before they could protest, she hooked her arm with Fred's knowing he'd let her, now his brother was gone.
"How're things with Jack?" he asked, she rolled her eyes, "I'm serious, no opinions here,"
"You can have an opinion but question my friendship - relationship? Whatever it is. Isn't supportive,"
"What do you need support for?" he questioned, she pursed her lips. "Come on what can Freddie support you with?"
"Fine," she sighed, "I don't like Elle-
"The bitch,"
"Yes, the bitch, it's like she goes out of her way to point out things about me, and I'm worried, Jack might see them things too," he rest the back of his hand against her head.
"You aren't sick, I always thought you didn't care about people's opinions of you,"
"I don't-
"You clearly do, as for Jack seeing them things, if he does like them and chooses her because of it, then he never deserved you,"
"What do you mean?"
"If you are with someone and they show interest in someone else or someone is trying to get their attention, it's a test of loyalty, if it were me, I wouldn't intervene,"
"Why, you'd just let someone take your girlfriend,"
"Yes, my girlfriend if I had one, didn't deserve me, so be done with her,"
Fred shoved her racing towards the village, she laughed chasing after him. As she caught up with him, he held his hands up in surrender. She nudged him playfully as he swung his arm over her they strolled through the streets, without any worries about receiving detention once they returned.
They were welcomed to Hogsmeade now, they didn't know where to go first. It didn't matter where they went Rhea's mind was occupied with words Fred told her. A test of loyalty, there wasn't a doubt in her mind that Elle liked Jack more than she'd admit. She shook her head,
'No, Jack's been my friend for a long time, he wouldn't hurt me like that,'
She wouldn't admit that Fred is right again, even if he turned out to be she wouldn't tell him. She smiled at him as he waved her over to Honeyduke's, Rhea jogged over to him he smiled holding something behind his back. He held up a sugar quill.
"I bought you one,"
"Thanks, you didn't have to,"
"I know you like them, and besides it'll give you something to chew on, other than my ear,"
"Excuse me, I don't talk that much,"
"Whatever you say Ri," she turned to look at the other stores in the old wizarding village, hiding her smile. She loved this, no arguing just friends like they always should have been.
"Fred, Ri, wait up," they turned George rested against a lamppost, catching his breath they chuckled walking over to him. "Did you know your brother's planning a prank?"
"Oh yeah, that doesn't surprise me, no doubt, Harry will be joining him, and maybe Ethan, he has no interest in being, head boy so why behave,"
"How is your brother?" George asked.
"Carden had a rough night-
"I mean your other brother,"
"I don't know, Phoebe's gone to see him, I would've gone but Wood insisted on a pointless team meeting,"
"What are we going to do though, if we don't have a seeker the odds of us winning any game this year will be slim," Fred asked, "I guess we could always knock out the other seekers, then it's a fair game,"
"No, you can't do that, we'll be no better than Slytherin,"
"You're probably right," George and Rhea looked at each other.
Shrugging their shoulders as Fred walked a little ahead of them. Never had he casually said she was right, something was different with him she couldn't work out what it was, he hadn't matured there was no chance of either of them growing up.
They'd stay childish forever, never grow old always have fun. They'd find some way to be grown adults with careers that still enriched their childish sides, they had to the grown-up thing was just too boring for them.
Fred and George loved their older brothers, however, Percy had always been a bore and never entertained the idea of playing outside with them. Bill had his head in other places, taking up a job as Cursebreaker, it was alright not as exciting to them. Now Charlie's job seemed more up their street, playing with magical creatures, and flying Dragons even if that wasn't in his job description.
Rhea on the other had overheard Ethan talking of hoping to go to New York after he graduates to meet their great uncle. Who had a hand in raising his father, Phoebe would most likely have a boring ministry job, something totally different to what she wanted to do with her life.
That time was years away, but it somehow put a lot of pressure on them, to live up to what their family had accomplished, soon after graduating. Ethan might only be in his fifth year. But Rhea had no doubt in her mind that he knew exactly what he wanted.
