"Kittu, baby, don't do this, no?" I mumbled, knocking on her door slowly, so no one from downstairs gets an ear to our fighting, and changes their mind about our marriage.

After that kiss, I thought all went okay between us, but madam declared war, pushing me outside of her room, and I myself support her for doing this to me. What was I even thinking before spouting all that nonsense? She fucking deserves a gold medal for bearing everything, and then me. If not her and her slap, I would have murdered myself for not being with her today.

"If you want to get married, get out of here and let me get ready. We will talk about this later, Mr. Singhania." She shouted from another side, making me sigh and stride downstairs, but I guess I know how to calm down my angry tigress.

Get ready for it, Kittu.

Smirking, I was about to get down but halted on the last step of the stairs, sensing everyone's eyes on me with knowing smiles, and my hand found its way to rub my neck with mortification.

Why Khushi had to shout everything...

"Beta, can we talk?" Khushi's father... I mean, papa requested along with Sarla maa, and nodding my head at them, I followed them to the balcony area.

"Atharvaa, beta... whatever Sarla said, please don't take anything to your heart. As a mother, she did what she thought would be good for her daughter. As you see, Atharvaa... my Khushi, she thinks she did a quite good job at pretending everything fine in front of us, but what she forgot was that we are her parents. We have seen her pain, her suffering, her cries behind her; I'm alright smiles... We... we have watched our lively girl go lifeless in these four months, and it devastated us. So, just to bring that smile to her daughter's face again, my wife acted impulsively and made that decision ignoring the fact that you're her happiness... she may not confess, but her eyes speak everything, Atharvaa, and I'm not that foolish person not to observe returning of that hope, that smile in her eyes again when you come back in her life. As her parents, we will never hinder her happiness, but beta, promise me she will always be safe and happy..."

"It's not that I don't trust you, beta. I know you're the right person for her when you risked your own life and went to save her, yet as a selfish father, I want to give my daughter the best life... I want to be sure." Papa spoke, holding maa's hand the entire time, who was sitting beside him with a guilty expression. So, kneeling between them, I took her hand in mine, making her look at me.

"Maa, you're never wrong on your side. As papa said, you just thought like a mother, and do mothers can ever think wrongly for their children? No right, then why do you have to be guilty about it? And about me feeling bad... it would be a lie if I said I didn't feel hurt. But I can understand your reason for taking that decision, maa. You're the same to me as mumma, so how can I be angry with you, hmm?" Maa looked down at me with a grateful smile, caressing my hair.

"And papa, I know you're worried for your daughter, and it's absolutely fine after whatever happened in these four months. But, one thing I promise you today and forever is that she will always be happy as she is here, and I will never leave her side... you don't know how important she is to me, and I don't know how to prove it to you, papa, but all I can tell you now is that I love her so much papa, and I can't live without her... those four months, it killed me to be without her. I don't know when, but she has become my everything, my strength, my weakness, my happiness... my life, papa. So, please, just trust me this time, and I will make sure you will never regret it." With determination reflecting in my voice, I replied, turning to him and making me stand, he took me in his embrace, patting my back while holding a proud smile, and hugged him back, I took an oath to never break his trust ever again.
