Escape to the sea

The atmosphere was becoming brighter as it seems like it's been hours Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett have been at sea. Neither have said anything to each other, mainly because they didn't know what to say and it doesn't seem either of them trust each other. They were long gone from the law now, it will be impossible to find them since the ocean is enormous and seems to go on for eternity. At this point, they both agreed to stay at whatever land they land on and perhaps start over, but Nellie was unsure if Sweeney will stay with her. Once they reach land what will happen to them?

"Do you know where Ireland is?" Mrs. Lovett finally said after hours of silence with the only sound to be heard were the waves splashing on the small boat.

"No" was all Sweeney answered and he continued to move the paddles, his arms were sore since he's been moving the boat for hours and honestly, he didn't know what he was doing or where Ireland was.

Another question Nellie wanted to ask but she was afraid she might anger the barber further, and the question she wants to ask him will probably be answered with a no or utter silence, but she was curious on what his answer will be so she bravely queried:

"Will we be living together? I mean that is if ya want to, but I don't want to be alone again..."

It was silent, for a few moments Sweeney said nothing but he then responded with: "why the Hell will I ever want to live with you, you mean nothing to me, you're the worst thing that has ever happened to me" his voice was a low growl and it tasted like venom, his words hurt her deeply but if he despises her than why hasn't he killed her like he intended to hours ago when they were in the bakehouse?

"If you can't stand me than why am I still alive? Ya say you hate me but you do nothin' about it" the baker retorted, but a small part of her felt regret when saying those words because after she said that, Sweeney glared at her, the same look he gives to anyone that will meet their demise.

"Believe me Mrs. Lovett, the punishment I will give you will be far worse than death, I'll make you pay for what you've done to me and my wife. Perhaps my daughter as well since it doesn't seem you did nothing to stop the judge from kidnapping my daughter and holding her in prison, her childhood wasted" he spat and continued to row the boat.

"Let me explain-"

"Silence! I don't want to hear anymore lies from you and I have a headache and I want to hear no word from you, understood?"

Nellie's heart was thumping madly now, but not in a good way. What punishment will the demon barber give her? Eternal torcher perhaps for the sins she's done and she was half the reason his life has fallen down.

Stupid Nellie! Tis what I get for not using my head and bein' selfish. Perhaps I deserve this... she pondered, a big slap in the face to wake her up from her fantasies and to actually see what she's done. She knows now that she should have told the sorrowful barber of the true whereabouts of his wife, things would have been less tense even if it meant letting him leave and find Lucy.

But she wasn't wrong when she said she was gone, Lucy truly has lost her mind since she poisoned herself, there's no way to bring her back, quite similar to how you can't bring Benjamin back now that this new man Sweeney Todd has taken over his body, she realizes now that the former husband and wife have something in common, but could the two really get back together? In another world where Nellie told the barber that Lucy was alive and roaming the streets and try to regain her memory and the two could start a new bond? It didn't seem possible, Sweeney is impatient and short temper, he would probably even break down if he ever saw the sight of his dear Lucy now covered in rags and filth.

"Why did you lie to me..."

Mrs. Lovett snapped out of her thoughts and glanced at the barber, surprised he has spoken after sometime.
