~ Fast-forward A Month and a half ~

My daily routine was heading down to the banks and meeting my friend almost everyday. We would take underwater trips and tend to just talk about things related to legends of other kelpies and what not. My grandmother seemed to be suspicious thinking I was meeting up with a friend or maybe a girlfriend I had made while I was staying for the summer. But that wasn't true. Me and the kelpie had grown very close ever since learning about my family history. What I can say is that we have formed some type of bond. A bond that is strong and pure. "Jake can I talk to you" the kelpie asked me one day as I went down to the bank to meet him. "Of course, what's up? I asked. "I want you to have something" he said. "What is it"? "This is my bridle". "Not all kelpies have one, but this one is one I want you to have". "But why" I asked very puzzled. "Because, you are a friend". "Someone I know I can trust". "I'm scared I might need to go away soon". "What?!?" "Yes, even spirits have to go away someday and move on". "Which is why I want you to have the bridle". "So you can use it to call upon my spirit if you ever need me". "Wait, You can't go please"... "I almost began to cry". The kelpie embraced me. "Jake, nothing can last forever, not even spirits". "From your great, great, great, grandfather to you, your smart and wise". "You carry your Great Grandfather's wisdom". "As soon as I came, I must go away now". "But, this isn't goodbye"."I promise I will be back one day" the kelpie reassured me". "But how will I call upon you with the bridle I asked"? "Do not worry" he said. "Whenever you need me, hold the bridle tightly and say the word Anam Cara". "Wait, Anam means soul and Cara means friend" I said. "Correct" the kelpie replied. "Jake, you are more than a friend to me". "You are like family" the kelpie said to me almost appearing to shed a tear. "You are too, kelpie" I said tearing up. "I won't forget you my friend" I said finally. After we both said our peace, the kelpie swam away but not before turning back to smile as a reassurance this wasn't a goodbye. After he swam away, I tearfully looked down at the water and then back at the bridle that was inside my hand. I slowly made my way home while remembering the kelpie and the bond we had formed. "I won't forget him" I said reassuring myself. "For the memories will always be here"....
