Chapter 1

-Olivia's POV-

I return back to work today, two months after everything that has happened to me. Two weeks after I gave birth to my pride and joy, Noah, her father left us.

-FLASHBACK-

"I can't do this Olivia.!" Said David Haden as he packs his bag. Olivia stands on the other side of the room, rocking Noah, with tears flowing down her face.

"Please don't do this David." she says sobbing, putting Noah in her bassinet and walking towards David.

"Olivia, I can't do this. I don't want this family, I never wanted this." He yells causing Olivia to back up, still crying.

"So this was a mistake," Olivia yells pointing to him and her, "Noah was a mistake."

"Yes this was a mistake, and I'm sorry." He said walking towards Olivia and Noah.

"Get away from me. Don't ever come near me or her again." she said picking up a crying Noah, and walking over to her bed, laying down and pulling her baby girl close.

"I'm sorry Olivia." He says before he leaves. As soon as she hears the door close, she let's it all out.

-FLASHBACK OVER-

"Olivia, we've all missed you so much." Captain says as I walk into his office, carrying Noah in her carseat.

"I've missed you guys too, so much." I say hugging him.

"Is this Noah?" He asks, as I set the car seat on his desk.

"Yea. I don't have a babysitter yet, and since I'm only on desk duty I didn't think it would be a problem."

"No it's not a problem at all. Can I hold her?" He asks with a sparkle in his eyes.

"Of course her Grandpa can hold her." I say taking her out, and handing her to Cragen. He smiled at her dress, it was sky blue and said 'Grandpas Pride an Joy'.

"I love the shirt liv." he says smiling looking up for a minute, then back down. He looks out the window and smiles. "you better go see the guys."

"Yea, I missed them." I say grabbing Noah and turning around to walk out. I reach the door but before I open it, Captain stops me.

"Liv, we hired a new detective, and he'll be here for good." He says with a smirk.

"Good?" I say giving his smirk a questioning look. I turn around and walk out, looking down at Noah as I do.

"Excuse me?" I say standing a couple feet away from captains door. Fin, Munch, and the new guy look up at me with a smile

"Babygirl, it's so good to see you. We've missed you so much." Fin says walking over to me and hugging me, being aware of Noah. "Is this miss Noah?" he says running his thumb over her cheek, gently.

"Yea. Noah Lee Benson." I say smiling and giving her to Fin. "munch, you better get over here and give me a hug."

"Damn, I thought you were gonna forget." he says coming over to hug me.

"I would never." I say letting go. I turn to the new guy and walk towards him, causing him to stand up. "hello, I'm Olivia."

"I'm Elliot. It's nice to finally meet you." He says shaking my hand for a little longer than necessary, but it doesn't matter, I wasn't going to complain.

"You too." I say turning back towards Fin because Noah was starting to fuss. "Let me have her." I say taking her and rocking her softly until she calmed down.

"When you coming back?" Fin asks sitting on the edge of my desk as I sit in my chair.

"I'm back, but on desk duty until I'm comfortable being away from her." I say running my finger through her soft brown curls. "Only god knows when that will be.!" I say laughing.

"Well I'm glad your back. We all are." Munch says looking over at Elliot. I look over at Elliot and he's smiling and shaking his head.

-four months later-

I walk into the precinct and bring Noah to captains office so she can sleep.

"Just come and get me when she wakes up." I say walking out of Cragens office as he answered his phone.

"Good morning partner." Elliot says, taking off his suit jacket and rolling up his sleeves.

"Good morning." I say walking up to him.

"How's everything going at home? I heard about David." he says slowly.

"Everything is good. David made his choice there's nothing I can do about it." I say shrugging my shoulders, still standing in front of him. He sets his hands on my arm causing me to look up at him.

"Your a great mom." He says standing up from his position on the edge of his desk.

"Thank you. It's only because I have great friends like you guys." I say setting my hand on top of his.

"You wanna grab dinner tonight?" He asks after a couples if minutes of staring into my eyes.

"I thought you'd never ask." I say chuckling, still holding his hand. "Noah is with Cragen tonight anyways so we are good."

"Okay." he says squeezing my hand, "I can't wait."

"Me neither." I say walking over to my desk.

"Okay you guys can head out." Cragen says from his office, holding Noah in her carseat. I walk over to then and kiss Noah's head causing her to giggle.

"Mommy loves you babygirl." I say causing her to make noises and giggle. "thank you for taking her."

"No problem liv. Now get out there, and have fun."

"Okay, thank you." I say kissing his cheek. I walk over to Elliot and he helps me with my jacket and puts his hand on my lower back. I look up at him and smile, causing him to smile back.

"So where do you want to go for dinner?" He asks starting the car.

"I was thinking we could go to that little outside diner." I say fixing myself so I am facing him.

"Sounds great." he says takin my hand into his and intertwining our fingers. We pull up to the restaurant and he gets out and opens the door for me. We walk with our hands intertwined.After our dinner Elliot drives me home.

"do you want me to walk you up?" He asks as I let go of his hand to get out of the car.

"Yea." I say looking at him, smiling.We walk hand in hand up to my apartment."this is me."

"I had a great time liv." he says from behind me as I open the door.

"I did too." I say standing in the doorway, leaning on the doorframe. He walks closer to me, setting his hand on cheek, leaning in. I lean in and our lips collide for a breathtaking kiss. When he pulls away I smile and set my hand on top of his.

"I'm sorry liv." he says trying to back away.

"No it okay. But are you sure you want to do this with everything going on with me. I'm a single mother to a six month old baby." I say looking down.

"You a great mother." he says lifting my chin up. "ever since I first laid eyes on you, I've wanted to be with you. Baby and all, I'm yours if you let me."

"Yea." I say with tears in my eyes.

"Yea?" He says with a smile putting his hands to cup my face.

"Yea, I want you to be mine and I want to be yours." I say kissing him passionatley.
