The next day, Saturday morning.
Nick's POV
I'm so glad we decided to take a break before our show tomorrow, we always have at least a day in between each concert so we collectively agreed that during that time we should focus on ourselves. I've taken a look around the city and noticed a small, quiet café just a few blocks down from our hotel. The fact its pretty quiet today is perfect. Now that we've become really popular, it's hard not to get noticed, especially in big cities like this. I make my way over to the doors and push them open, a small bell tinkles as I walk inside. Cute.
As I walk up to the counter I try putting my head down, and my hood up, not making eye contact with anyone. I hope that the barista's here are chill, I don't really have the energy to deal with fans right now. Once I get to the counter, I take a breath and look up to order, and that's when I see her.
We instantly lock eyes and suddenly memories start flashing before me, ones I've never seen before, ones of me and her? I've never met this girl in my life but somehow I feel like I know her. I stand there, my mouth agape and eyes wide. She seems taken back too, a shocked expression on her face as we look deeply into eachothers souls. Oh god, she's probably noticed who I am. "Uh..what would you like to order, sir?" She finally pipes up, her voice almost shaky. I snap back into reality. "Oh! Er, what's your best drink?" I ask, awkwardly smiling to make this interaction less weird.
y/n's POV
"Our best-selling at the minute is the caramel frappe, would you like one?" I say, lowering my head a bit and scratching my neck. Who is this guy? I feel like I've seen him before. "Yeah, great ill take that." He says, just as shyly. I start making his drink and look at isabelle, she's minding her own business and doesn't have a clue what's going on. I try getting her attention but it's no use, I'll have to talk to her later. "Here you go, that's just $2.89." I say, handing him the drink. As he goes to take it our hands brush against eachother and I feel an electric shock go through my whole body. He seems to have felt it too, as he stands there, his lips slightly parted. "Uhm, thanks."
He then quickly gets out his wallet and pays for the drink, to which I then give him the receipt. I let out a sigh as he turns around to leave. I look down at the counter to try and process what just happened as I hear his voice again. "This may be a weird question, but, when is your break?" He chimes. I look up at him again and he searches my eyes for a response. "My break is in like five minutes, why?" I ask, curious. "Would you maybe wanna...I don't know, grab a coffee with me?" He says, a cute but faint smile painted on his face.
I giggle to myself and look down again. "What?" He laughs, tilting his head as his soft, blonde hair falls to the side. "You've just ordered one!" I laugh. He looks at the frappe in his hand and seems embarrassed. "Oh right yeah...well I can save it for five minutes, it is iced after all." He says, now grinning. His teeth are so perfect, and the corner of his lips slightly perk upwards, I notice myself staring. "Sure, I'll meet you outside." I say, starting to finish up. "I'll get you a coffee too, on me." He says, still smiling. "Oh, no no I couldn't." I gasp. "Please?" He asks. "Alright, fine...i do like mochas." I give in. He nods his head and goes to the other counter where another co-worker is finishing his break and I see him order another drink.
Nick's POV
I pay for her drink and make my way to the outside seating area, then wait for her with the drinks in each hand. I'm guessing she doesn't know who I am, which is great because I can have a normal interaction with her, I honestly can't remember the last time I got to talk with someone who didn't know who I am. I see the girl walk through the doors, her hands slowly taking out her hair tie as her long brown hair flows down and bounces off her shoulders. She looks around then sees me and smiles. She's absolutely beautiful I can't help but stare in admiration.
"Hey! I just finished, you wanna sit down?" She asks. "Yeah let's go sit over there." I say, pointing to around the back. I don't wanna ruin this moment by getting recognised and her finding out about who I really am. "Around the back? Okay..." She chuckles and starts walking over to the spare seats. I follow behind and we sit down, I hand her the mocha I ordered and take a sip from my frappe. "Yknow you didn't have to buy me a drink." She says, taking a sip and flinching at how hot it is. "I wanted to! Plus it'd be kinda rude me drinking and you not." I say. "What a gentleman." She laughs.
I take another sip and realise the frappe is more watery than before. "Has the ice melted?" She notices. "Must've." I reply, stirring it with the straw. "Hate it when that happens, it doesn't taste as good, want me to put some more coffee in it?" She asks. "Absolutely not, you're on break." I laugh. "Plus, I asked you to have coffee with me for a reason." I smirk at her. "Oh yeah?" She says, resting her chin on her fist, and taking another sip from her coffee. "What's your name?" I ask. She swallows and settles the cup down. "y/n, and you, kind sir?" She grins.
"Nick." I smile at her.
