y/n's POV
"You have a beautiful name." He says, blushing slightly. "Oh... thank you." I smile and feel my cheeks get warm. There's a short moment of silence as we both sip our drinks and look away.
"Are you am-"
"So what do y-""I'm sorry, you go first." Nick laughs, rubbing the back of his neck. I giggle and look up at him. "I was gonna ask you what you do for work, you know I work here but I'm curious as to what you do." I say, crossing my arms and leaning forwards on the table.
Nick's POV
Here we go, now i have to think of jobs that include travel, I'd try to impress her, but nothing exciting is coming to mind, and I start to panic. "Uh...I travel a lot for work, I'm a...uh...I'm a salesman!" I say. "A salesman? Ewwww." She laughs. "Yeah, I'm one of the really annoying ones." I laugh with her. She seems to find this very amusing as her eyes glow and her laughter fills the air. I feel myself start to blush watching her. "I'm guessing that's why you don't have a Belgian accent, Nick?" She calms down. "Yeah, I was actually gonna ask you the same thing. You don't sound Belgian either." I say.
She takes another sip and swallows before speaking. "No, I'm from California, my best friend and I moved here last year to get away from our boring old lives, which is ironic because they're probably more boring now than before." She sighs. "I can change that." I look up and do my signature sexy smirk at her. "Getting our flirt on, are we?" She says, raising an eyebrow. "Perhaps." I chuckle. "Yknow, this job can be awkward at times because me and Iz aren't Belgian. Sometimes we have to pass customers over to our co-workers who do speak Belgian, and its super embarrassing." She says. "I feel you, being a salesman is pretty similar if you're going to foreign countries."
y/n's POV
I giggle and look at my watch to see that my break is just about over. "I really enjoyed this, but I have to go back to work now." I tell him, feeling quite sad our interaction is over. "Yknow, y/n, if you're free after work, we could go talk some more elsewhere?" He asks, smiling. I perk up in delight and grin. "I'd love that." I reply. "Great! What time do you finish?" He says, standing up and reaching out his hand to help me up. "In about an hour." I tell him and take his larger hand in mine. "Perfect." He smiles as we make our way to the front of the café again.
"There's this park just down the street where you can see the sunset perfectly, I walk past it on the way home from work, we should meet there." I say. "Sure! I'll see you there, y/n." We both say our goodbyes, and I walk back inside with a huge grin on my face. Was this the guy I had been waiting for? This all felt very surreal, yet a warm feeling settles in my heart as I walk back to the counter and tie my hair up.
"Who was that guy you were outside with?" Isabelle smirks at me. "Oh... just a guy." I smile back, smoothing down a bump in my hair. "Just a guy, huh?" She chuckles, handing coffee to a customer. About an hour passes and I get ready to leave to see Nick. Excitement bubbles inside me, I haven't done anything like this in years. Usually, I'd just go home with Izzy and lounge about, so this is special. As I approach the park, I see Nick talking to an elderly woman, so I slow down and try to listen to what they're saying.
Nick's POV
"I remember when I was your age, me and my husband met on a train in 1946, now look at me." The woman smiles and holds out her wrinkled hand. A shiny gold ring was placed upon one of her fingers as she wiggled it around. "That's beautiful." I tell her. I look around to see y/n in the distance and turn back to the woman. "That's her." I say, nodding in y/n's direction. "Oh, she's beautiful! I'll leave you two love birds to it then, good luck, young man." She says with a grin and waddles away. y/n walks up to me with a soft smile.
"Hey." We say at the same time. "Not this again." She giggles. "C'mon, let's go. The sun is just about to set." She says, taking my hand and running down the path, dragging me behind her. We get to a reserved spot in the park, it's covered in flowers, and a big tree stands slightly in the corner, towering over us. She let's go of my hand and sits down, her back laying against it. I sit beside her and look forwards, the whole space in front of us is clear apart from the sides of the path where a few trees had been spread out. The people around start to leave. "I like to come to this spot every so often to watch the sunset, I always find it so beautiful, the view from here is perfect." She chimes. I look at her gazing into the distance, the breeze ever so slightly pushing her hair out of her face, and the now orange sun lighting up her skin. "I agree." I smile, not taking my eyes off her.
We talk about eachothers interests for a while, and she laughs at my goofy jokes until it's time to leave. "I had a lovely evening, Nick." She says. "Me too." We hug and start going our separate ways, walking back to the hotel I can't help but think about her and the way I felt when we locked eyes for the first time. I truly feel as though I've known her before. "Hey guys." I smile, opening the door and greeting the boys. "Where have you been? We have to go to the arena soon." Kev asks. "With a girl." I say, shrugging. "A girl?" They all say at once. "Yeah, what about it?" I reply. "Okay, you need to tell us everything when we get back from the show tonight." AJ speaks, patting my back. "Totally." Brian adds. "Alright, alright." I laugh, packing my change of clothes ready to leave. I sit on the edge of the bed and think about seeing y/n tomorrow, I really wanna talk to her again. That's when I realise.
Shit, I forgot to ask her for her number.

.A/N
There's a few plot holes in terms of the tour because I need to slowly progress the story - so they go to a country, have 2 shows in 2 different cities within that country and have a break day in between each show, then 2 break days before getting a plane to a new country and repeat. In some cases I have to add a new city that they didnt actually go to - I hope that makes sense 😭
