Price was holding a gun, ready to shoot.
"Everything is okay!", I tried to calm all of them, holding my hands up. "I thought König was a thief or something like that. It's a false alarm."
Price sighted in relief, lowering the gun.
"Ya freaked us all out." meant Soap.
"I'm sorry.." König said quietly.
"Well, the most important thing is that you guys aren't hurt." Price said, patting me and Königs shoulder. "You all should go back to sleep."
With that Gaz, Soap, Ghost and Price went out of the room.
"You're not going to sleep?" König asked me.
I just shook my head. "I can't sleep anyways." König nodded his head. "You should get some sleep tho." I told him.
"I can't sleep either." I nodded my head and then we just stood there in silence. It was getting awkward so I asked him: "Hey I'm going outside for a bit.. Do you want to join me?"
He just looked at me for a moment. "Uh- yea sure.."
So we walked out and I sat down on the small stairs, looking into the forest in front of us and up at the stars. He was just standing next to me and i looked up at him. "Hey."
He looked down at me questioning. I just patted the space on the stairs next to me, gesturing him to sit down next to me and he did so. Quietly we just looked at the view in front of us. I took out my pack and lighted a cigarette. König starred at me.
"You smoke?"
I looked at him. "You want one?" I held over the pack but he shook his head.
"Smoking is unhealthy." he meant and looked back at the forest. I shrugged and smoked my cigarette. After some time I couldn't stand the silence anymore.
"So when did you join the military?" I asked him. He looked over to me.
"When I was 17 I volunteered."
I nodded.
"What about you?"
"When I was 18. My brother already was in the military. He was 21 at that time. I always looked up to him. I wanted to surpass him. That's why I joined."
He nodded again.
"Are you and your brother close?"
"We were yes."
"Oh. I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. It wasn't your fault."
As I finished my cigarette I laid on my back looking at the many stars and the moon in the sky. I smiled to myself.
I noticed König doing the same and now we were laying next to eachother looking at the sky.
Königs POV
I followed them outside. I didn't really know what to do so I just stood there. At some point they gestured me to sit down next to them. So I did.
We just looked at the view in front of us as they got something out of their pocket. I looked over to see them grabbing a cigarette.
"You smoke?" I asked them.
"You want one?"
I shook my head in disgust. "Smoking is unhealthy."
They just shrugged and smoked their cigarette.
We sat silent for a while."So when did you join the military?" They asked.
I looked over to them, into their eyes that glowed beautifully in the moonlight.
"When I was 17 I volunteered." I said almost forgetting what they just asked me.
They nodded and looked into the distance again.
"What about you?"
"When I was 18. My brother already was in the military. He was 21 at that time. I always looked up to him. I wanted to surpass him. That's why I joined."
I nodded. "Are you and your brother close?"
They were silent for a moment. "We were yes."
Then I realized that he was dead. I felt bad for even asking.
"Oh. I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. It wasn't your fault."
The conversation stopped after that and I started to drift away in my thoughts, making me feel even more bad for bringing possible memories back to their mind that they maybe rather forget.
I noticed them laying down on their back, looking at the sky. A small smile formed on their face. It was different than the other times they smiled. This time it looked... real.
I also laid down and looked up at the stars. After some time I looked over to them. The stars reflected in their eyes making them look all shiny. Their expression was soft, at peace even. There was still a faint smile on their lips.
I couldn't take my eyes off of them.Wunderschön..
They slowly turned their head.
"Did you say something?" They asked.
I started to panick for a moment.
Shit did I say that out loud?
"N-nothing." I replied and looked back at the sky. Gladly I wore my mask so they couldn't see me blushing.
"We should go inside then." They said getting up on their feet. I looked over seeing them holding their hand out to me. I grabbed it and pulled myself up.
We walked back inside next to eachother. I noticed them yawn slightly, trying to hide it.
"You should really get some sleep you know." I told them again.
They looked at me a little annoyed. "Well, I would if I wouldn't have these nightmares all the time."
"Oh. I'm sorry I didn't know."
"You couldn't have know. Stop apologizing for stuff you can't do anything about."
"Yeah I'm sorry..."
Ah wait- I said it again.
They glared at me.
"What did I just say?"
"Yes I'm so-"
They put their hand in front of my mouth, pressing through my mask.
"No I'm sorry anymore got it?"
I just nodded and they took their hand away. We kept walking.
"You know, I thought you were a really tuff guy when I met you but it turns out you're super shy."
They grinned at me.
"I'm not shy." I said, trying to sound confident.
"Yea sure." They commented with a sarcastic tone, still a smile on their face.
As we arrived at my door I said good bye, wishing them a good night. They did the same and walked to the next door where their room was.
