Will and Testament

//Peeling wallpaper and siren-like sounds

Grounding myself with the I.V. in my arm

Tears stinging like needles

EKGs in ICUs

Wishing I had succeeded in freeing myself

But if I wanted out of there, they couldn't know that

So with a smile I put on a gown

My costume for the next 2 weeks

Putting on the mask that I dropped last night

Stitched in smiles and button eyes

Off to another place

One that will try to rip it off again

Test my patience again

Test my will to write my last will and testament

Again\\

(Author's Notes)

I'm back and inspired to share my poetry again. This is a piece that I wrote during my sixth psych ward stay. It is about my experiences in the hospital waiting to be placed and the thought processes that I often have had to go through. Hope this helps someone <3
