Like old times (chapter two)

Bella's POV

~ 11:32AM ~

Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!! I hear the oven sing before turning it off. I'm in the kitchen in my house that I share with my best friend Rikki Chadwick. We have some new neighbors that just moved in yesterday and I decided to bake them some cupcakes and welcome them to the neighborhood.

I take the cupcakes out of the oven once the timer goes off before setting them on the counter to cool. I'm deep in thought when.... "Boo!" Rikki says sneaking up behind me. I jump and turn around. "What the hell Rikki!" She laughs and I roll my eyes. I turn back around before starting to make some homemade frosting and shaping it into sunflowers. I set a sunflower on each cupcake before placing the cupcakes on a plate. Then she grabs the plate of cupcakes and leaves the house with Rikki, heading next door.

Hayley POV

I just woke up in Rebekah's arms after a great night sleep. I kiss her on the lips to wake her up. She wakes up and kisses passionately back before I pull away. She opens her eyes. "Good morning love." She says while smiling. "Good morning babe."

We lay there for a little while before we get up. I change into a black tank top, a light brown leather jacket, a pair of black jeans and black peep top 3 1/2 inch heels before heading towards the kitchen to make some breakfast.

Once I'm in the kitchen I grab the ingredients for pancakes from the already bought and put away groceries. I feel someone come up behind me and wrap their arms around my waist. "Good morning again beautiful." I hear my girlfriend say as I smile. "Good morning gorgeous." A few seconds later the doorbell rings. "I'll get it." I say before giving Rebekah a quick kiss on the lips and walking towards the front door.

I open the door and smile before being completely surprised by what I see. Standing there in front of me are my two best friends from when I used to live here."Cleo?!!" Rikki and Bella both say clearly surprised.

I haven't seen or talked to neither Bella nor Rikki since a few months after I left to live in New Orleans Louisiana, United States of America. I knew that we would most likely cross paths sooner or later but I definitely didn't think the morning after we moved in. They don't even know that I date girls let alone Rebekah Mikaelson or Emma Gilbert as far as they know.......

Bella smiles at me before handing Rikki a plate of I think cupcakes. She always did love to bake. We used to bake and cook together all the time before I left. Once her hands are free, she pulls me into a tight hug, I hug back a little bit awkwardly before she pulls away. "I've missed you, it's been too long. Can we come in?" She smiles. "Um yeah sure" I step out of their way before closing the door behind them. "Wow is this your house?! It's beautiful!" Bella says as Rikki walks quietly behind us. "Yeah my girlfriend and I just moved in." I explain. "You date girls? I didn't know that. Do we get to meet her?" Bella asks. "Well actually you already have....."

We enter the kitchen and Rebekah turns around looking completely shocked at the sight of our old friends standing there. "Oh my god Emma?!" Bella says with a smile and hugs her. "Wait you guys are dating?" Rikki asks. I walk over to my girlfriend and give her a kiss on the cheek. "I always thought that you would end up together." Rikki says with a smile.

"You guys look so different yet like you haven't aged a day!" Rikki says. Rebekah and I tense up for a moment before I give Rikki a fake sweet smile. We can't afford for Rebekah and my secret to come out. I'm pretty sure that the only supernatural creatures that our old friends know about are mermaids and I hope we can keep it that way. The last thing we need is more people getting hurt or killed because they learned the secrets of the world.

"Thanks, I guess we just got lucky." I answer. "Oh! Are you guys hungry? I made chocolate chip pancakes." Rebekah asks before grabbing the plate of pancakes from the microwave and setting it on the table. Bella and Rikki both nod. "Sure." Bella says before we all sit down at the kitchen table and start eating pancakes, fruit, and bacon.

We talk and eat our breakfast, it felt just like old times.............
