Ibrahim's POV.
Getting Ejiro discharged and home safely was one big pain in the neck. The house was filled with tuns of reporters ready to unleash the rubbish they had to say. I was beyond piss and fired all the security officials present on duties yesterday. For crying out loud this was our personal home and not a press conference. Why then should they intrude in our privacy. My mood was completely spoilt. Ejiro didn't even spare me a gaze come to talk of speaking to me. It was as if I was completely shut off from her world. After she had eaten and taken her bath with the assistance of madam ice, mom insisted she spend sometime with the family to lighten up the mood but she rather stay locked up in her room.
This morning I walked pass her room several times but couldn't get a glimpse of her.
" Ibrahim are you hearing what I'm saying?". I don't know if it's guilt or not but my thought has just been all round Ejiro and nothing more. I cleared my throat before replying to my father. " you have my full attention sir". Obviously my dad didn't buy what I said because he had a look of distain on.
" His excellence made a vital point. I think your forth coming campaign should be canceled till this matter dies down".
" With all due respect sir. I appreciate your effort of leaving your comfort zone to creating time to help me out but sir, you do realize we are out of time and canceling my campaign won't do any help because the election date still remains the same and it's fast approaching".
" Ibrahim my son. I'm still the current governor of delta state for now. I have been in politics far more than I can remember. The Public is less concerned about your campaign now and is more interested in Ejiro and justice being served towards Fatima".
" but sir there is nothing I can do. Mr Erona on the other hand is on our neck threatening to drag my families name to the mud. Let us not forget Fatima here in question is my lover. Do you too expect me to send her to jail so justice can be served".
" excuse everyone". We all turned towards my supposed step mother. "I know this matter doesn't concern me but I have a suggestion". My mom who is sitting next to my dad says. I don't know why she even came with us to see his excellency. Always wanting to hang her husband like an hand bag when she clearly stole him from someone else.
" no.no.no.no my dear. Speak up it's for the benefit of us all". His excellency said following a warm smile. The man was so fat, you can no longer separate his neck from his face. His stomach is like the size of a pregnant woman carry twins. I just kept watching his stomach jiggle anytime he laughs. Greedy pigs I sighed. Embezzling all the public funds in the state, eating and growing fat like a cow.
" I personally think if we can give awareness to the public Ejiro is fine and is still standing by Ibrahim no matter what, then I don't think there is a big deal there".
" then Fatima?".
" That alone can remove attention from her and she can keep remaining the jealous lover by the side".
" not a bad idea but I don't think Ejiro is still in for the game. She hasn't even said a word to me since yesterday".
" Ejiro should be less of our concern now". My dad sighed clearing showing every sign of distain for her. " your excellency what most we do to calm Mr Erona down". His excellency released a deep husky series of laughter which we all followed suit with. " Erona is nothing but a cry lion. I I'm olotu the first and last. So long as your with me, I'm with you". He turns to me sparing me a intimidating yet short gaze. " I need assurances from your son if I do him well he will in return do me well too".
" you have my full support sir and I strongly believe even with our religious differences we will instead reign in my time". He nods his head finding pleasure in all I said.
" rest assured Erona is my boy and it's settled. His just a barking puppy". He chuckled. " eat and make merriment for all is settled". None of us had realized we had already been served refreshments during the course of the meeting. Everyone went on eating except me. " well it was nice meeting you your excellency". I prostrated showing respect. " I want to carry on to the office and settle some things with my team".
" sure. Also informed them about our sudden change of plans".
"Yes sir. I'll see you all later". I was more than tired of staying here, more so Fatima would be waiting for me.
