"Mike, please...don't go." Faye said as Mike grabbed his keys, bag in hand.

Mike turned to the petite blonde and wanted so badly to taste her lips, to savour the soft touch and the sweetness that she naturally radiated when they both kissed. However he resisted. "Faye. Just give me a few days okay? We can figure out...whatever this is when I'm back."

Faye felt nausea rising in the pit of her stomach as she began to understand. She felt guilty for sleeping with Stone and not during the threesome that Mike had played a part in, but the part where her and Stone wandered to the lounge to make love. It was in secret so Mike couldn't hear or see them, but Faye and Stone needed this release together.

"This is your place Mike...I should be the one leaving." Faye replied, seeming somber. She took the bag from Mike's hand and placed it down. "I'm gonna take a shower and I'll go. It's not fair you have to leave your own apartment if we are gonna do this."

Mike couldn't look her in the eye. Although he encouraged the threesome, he didn't expect Faye and Stone to be intimate after. He felt by letting Faye fuck him and Stone, she would have gotten the feelings she had for Stone out. However, it only strengthened their bond and their want to be together.

Mike looked to the ground, as Faye placed her hand on his cheek. The warmth and softness of her hand, soothed Mike as he looked pensive.

"I'm gonna shower and then I'll leave." Faye stated, smiling slightly at him.

Mike nodded and grabbed the box of Marlboros out of his leather jacket pocket, he took a stick out of the box and lit it with the lighter he had in hand. He took a long draw and exhaled the smoke out of his mouth.

Once Faye had her much needed shower, she put on the dress she had on the night previous and brushed her wet locks before grabbing her mini backpack.

Faye threw her Doc Martens on and walked to the door, knowing that Mike didn't even want to acknowledge her at this point. Suddenly Mike grabbed her forearm with his hand, delicately, leaving Faye to turn back.

"Are you okay?" she asked, looking at Mike.

He was clearly struggling with accepting that his girlfriend had a thing for someone else, and Faye knew that. She really loved being with Mike though, he was kind, caring and loving towards her.

"I fucking love you Faye." he said, all his energy going into these words as Faye's face showed compassion at them. "I don't know what I'd do without you in my life."

Faye felt even worse at this point. Mike was practically begging her to stay, however she agreed that some time away was best for the both of them.

Faye kissed his cheek and they embraced one more time, Mike holding on to her as if his life depended on it. They eventually stepped back from the hug, and Faye opened the front door.

"I'll see you in a few days." Faye said before turning and walking away.

Mike watched on as Faye moved further and further away from him.

He walked back into the apartment and grabbed his acoustic guitar, ready to play whatever came to his mind as his frustrations and insecurities came into the front of his mind.

Faye ended up going back to her mom's place and changed into some fresh clothes when she got there.

She saw her mom when she came back down the stairs, who just got back from her shift at the hospital where she worked as a receptionist. She had made a fresh pot of coffee and was pouring some of the contents into a large mug.

"Faye honey! I feel like I haven't seen you in a while. How have things been?" her mom, Fiona asked.

"Hi mom, yeah I was at Mike's...things are strange to say the least. How has work been?" Faye replied.

"Same shit different day. Two of the receptionists have the same week off next week, so it's just gonna be me...bad organisation on their part." she responded. "What's happened with you and Mike?"

Faye took a deep breath. "You remember Stone Gossard? My friend from back in school?"

"How could I forget? You too were inseparable. What has he got to do with you and Mike?" her mom asked.

"I saw him again for the first time in so long...he came into the bookstore where I work...I'm....I'm in love with him." Faye admitted.

"Tell me something I don't know." Faye's mom said as she seemed completely unphased by her daughter's admission.

"Wait what? What's that supposed to mean?" Faye wondered, her brows furrowed as she tried to understand.

"You've always loved Stone...you used to talk about him all the time. I remember when he got a girlfriend during school and you were always saying how she wasn't right for him. That's when I knew you harbored feelings for him."

Her mom wasn't oblivious to her feelings.

"Yeah well she definitely wasn't his type." Faye said.

"So...does he feel the same way?" her mom asked.

Faye nodded. "Yeah, we have shown affection for each other...even said 'I love you' to each other, but Mike is a good guy and I really like him. He felt it was best we spend a few days apart to think about what we both want."

"Does Mike know about Stone?" Faye's mom said as she thought about it.

Faye nodded. "Yeah that's why we are spending some time apart so we can put everything in perspective."

"Well you are the only person who can make that decision for yourself, who does your heart flutter for the most?" Fiona asked, trying to help her daughter.

"Stone...it always has done....But Mike has been good to me..." Faye expressed.

"Well whoever you choose to give your heart to, just make sure it's what you want." Fiona said, feeling like she knew what her daughter's answer would be.

"Thanks mom. I need to sleep, I'm so tired." Faye expressed.

"Long night?" her mom asked.

Faye smirked. "Um yeah something like that."

Faye headed up to her room and fell onto her bed, needing to rest before she made anymore decisions based on a guy (or two in her case).
