The next few days were mostly silent for Faye and Stone as they tried to process the devastating news they received. Faye was able to take some time off from working at the bookstore, whereas Stone cancelled a couple of rehearsals and shows to be with her. They barely spoke to each other, still in a state of shock. The only time is when one of them would ask the other if they wanted anything on the way to the kitchen, other than that it were warm embraces and a few tears shed.

Stone walked into their room, from making them both a cup of coffee. He looked at the clock by Faye's beside seeing it was 08:00am, and as he placed Faye's cup down on the side, she began to open her eyes and smiled faintly at him. Stone smiled back and kissed her on the forehead, before walking around to his side of the bed and getting in, still with coffee in hand.

Faye moved round to face him.

"Thank you." she said.

"That's okay. You sleep alright?" Stone smiled, putting his arm around her as he sat up, bringing Faye closer to him.

Faye sat up also and put her arm around Stone's body.

"No...it's kind of impossible to."

"Yeah, I'm not sleeping either. I just keep thinking about it." Stone replied.

"I just don't get where I went wrong Stone. I did everything I was supposed to. Cut out the caffeine, no smokes...I cut out all things you shouldn't eat when pregnant. I just don't fucking get it." Faye said, getting emotional again.

Stone kissed the top of her head. "I know baby."

"We are gonna have to talk about this at some point Stone...we just keep avoiding it." Faye said.

Stone took a deep sigh and sipped his coffee.

"I'm just not ready to speak about it at the moment."

"Then when? We lost our child...we barely talk since it happened." Faye responded, her words a little more heated.

"Seriously? Now? We've not long woken up and you wanna talk about the miscarriage? Babe, I love you, you know I do, but I can't do this right now." Stone replied, putting his cup on his bedside table.

"So we're just gonna act as if nothing happened? As if this didn't happen? Be all smiles and pretend everything is okay? No...I can't do that, because it's not okay. None of this is okay and we are suffering." Faye said, a tear falling down her cheek.

Stone took the packet of cigarettes and a lighter from his bedside and took one out, placing it between his lips and lighting the end. He moved his arm from around Faye, and got out of bed, placing his boots on and a jacket.

"Where are you going?" Faye asked.

"I need to go for a walk" Stone said, taking a deep draw of the cigarette and exhaling the smoke to the side.

"So you're just gonna run from the conversation?" Faye said, frustratedly.

Stone rolled his eyes and sighed. "I told you I don't wanna talk about this because I'm not ready. What the fuck don't you understand about that? Just give me some time."

Faye broke down into tears. She realised she was pushing Stone and she didn't want to, but her grief got the better of her.

"I'm sorry Stone." She said through the tears.

Stone looked at her, his eyes welling up, before leaving the room so that Faye wouldn't see him cry too.

A week on, and Stone decided to go to rehearsals for the first time in weeks with Mother Love Bone, and even jammed with Mike McCready.

He and Faye had made up a little and were talking more, although hadn't fully talked about the miscarriage.
