11 I Cicatrize {Healing}

Changkyun opened his eyes. He looked at his right side. San was on the bed with Yeosang and Jongho sleeping at the side of the bed. Changkyun realised his little brother was sleeping on the edge of his bed. ''Wooyoung-ah'' he stroked Wooyoung's hair.

''Hyung! You're awake!'' Wooyoung rubbed his eyes. ''Do you need anything?''
''Water please.'' Changkyun felt so thirsty. ''Since when am I here?''
''Since yesterday. You fainted at the crime site and the police brought you here'' Wooyoung poured the water in the glass and handed it to his brother. ''Almost 12 hours you're sleeping''

''Thanks'' Changkyun took a sip of the water. ''Where's mom?''
''He went out with Mrs Choi to buy some food.''
Changkyun nodded. ''Is San okay?''
''Yes he's ok. He will be discharged tomorrow''
''So, I'll be here alone''
''Dont worry, hyung. I'll be here with you. I will never leave you alone here, and take care of you until you discharge.''
''So if I get out of hospital you won't take care of me?''
''No, it's not like that hyung'' Wooyoung, almost Changkyun's shoulder like he always does  but he stopped as he remembered his brother was still unwell.

Changkyun smiled and tried to hold his laugh. ''Just do it. I'm okay''
Wooyoung slapped Changkyun's shoulder gently and Changkyun did the same to Wooyoung. They laughed together.
''Shh~ theyre sleeping'' referred Changkyun to Wooyoung's friends beside his bed.
''Ops hihihihihi'' Wooyoung giggled. ''You’re so brave, hyung. I wanna be like you''
''No Wooyoung. I'm afraid actually. I'm not brave. But, I'll do anything for my friend. I can't imagine what my life would be like if I lost him.''
''Yeah, I understand that.'' Wooyoung looked at his friends who were sleeping.
''Promise me you'll protect your friends and never hurt them, okay?''
''Alright hyung'' Wooyoung nodded.
''Good boy'' Changkyun pinched Wooyoung's cheeks.
​Wooyoung smiled cutely.

Inspector Tae Oh and Mrs Choi (San's mom) came in. Mrs Kang, Mrs Choi (Jongho's mom) and Mrs Jung also walked in with them.
''Thank God, youre awake'' Mrs Jung rushed to Changkyun.
Changkyun smiled and hugged his mom. ''I'm fine, omma''

Inspector Tae Oh put the fruit on the table.
''How about Dohyun and Jungkook?'' asked Changkyun. All of them looked at each other in silence.
​Inspector Tae Oh shook his head. '' We found Jungkook's dead body in the forest.''
''Dohyun?!'' asked Changkyun.
''Don't be shock. Dohyun is still alive. He's in the ICU. He hasn't woken up since we found him.''
''Can I see him?''
''Yes you can. But tomorrow morning, ok?''
''Alright, Inspector.''
Inspector Tae Oh gave an apple to Changkyun. ''Thank you for helping us''
''Most welcome, Inspector'' Changkyun smiled.
''Ask the kids to go home. They must be tired sleeping like that'' said Inspector Tae Oh.
The moms woke up their sons.

''But I wanna be here with hyung'' said Wooyoung.
''That's ok. You can go home. You need rest'' said Changkyun.
''But I promised you just now.''
''Wooyoung~'' Changkyun made a face.
''Okay i'll go home.'' Wooyoung pouted. ''I'll come again tomorrow.''
''Okay~'' Changkyun waved to Wooyoung.

''I'll come again to accompany you after I send Jongho home.'' said Inspector Tae Oh. Jongho held his brother's hand and they went out.
''Thank you, Inspector'' Changkyun smiled and waved to all of them, who left only him and San in the ward. Changkyun looked at San who was still sleeping. He pulled his blanket and tried to sleep.

After an hour, Inspector Tae Oh came back to the hospital. He sat down on the sofa and turned on his laptop.
Changkyun opened his eyes as he heard the aggressive keyboard sounds.''Inspector, you're still awake?''
''Sorry if I woke you up''
''What are you doing?''
''A report of this case''
''Why do you always help us, Inspector?''
''Because you helped me get my job again. And it's also my responsibility to take care of you all till the end.''
''I hate those bad and ungrateful police. That's why I helped you. I can't bear the unfairness in this town. I'm so sorry to the people here with all the unsolved cases.''
''What is your ambition, Changkyun?''
''Why do you ask me that so suddenly?''
''I just wanna know''
''Me and Dohyun wanted to open a cafe together after graduation''
''That's nice.''
''Why do you wanna know about my ambition?''
''Actually, I saw your potential. You're brave enough to be a police officer.''
''Me? Become a police officer? No, Inspector. I can't. I'm not that strong''
''I'll train you. Don't worry''
''But Inspector, it's a very hard job'' Changkyun sighed.
''Every job is hard in this world. I believe in you.'' Inspector Tae Oh patted Changkyun's shoulder.
Changkyun sighed and smiled.

Inspector Tae Oh sent Changkyun and San to the ICU. A doctor came towards them. ''Hi, I'm Doctor Lily. Nice to meet you''
Changkyun and San bowed to the doctor.
