A few days later, in the Rainbow Room.
Henry takes Zero's hand before saying "Please know that I'm sorry that I'll be showing you that, I'm so beyond sorry but you must understand that something is off with Mark."
"Henry, no one is pure evil as you put it, you tend to see everything in such a dark and pessimistic point of view" she answers.
"And you tend to see the good in everyone even people with bad intentions. Please Anya, let me show you" he says.
Zero closes her eyes and Henry takes her hand, they have noticed that when they were physically touching their power were even stronger, but none of them ever mentioned it to Brenner. Henry makes her see his punishment, the mischievous grin on Mark's face, she can feel the pain Henry went through and bite on her lips not to scream, a tear rolls down from her cheek. She can hear Mark threatening to kill Henry, telling him that he is a monster, threatening to destroy him, she even hears him say that he punished her in order to hurt him. When she opens her eyes, she breaks down, she starts crying and nothing can stop it. Even Henry's hug does not stop the crying. Henry's heart break at the sight of him doing this to her, but she has to understand. She must understand that some people are evil, that Mark is evil. Brenner comes into the room, he probably saw Zero's mental state through the cameras, he enters furious yelling at Henry "What did you do to her ?!" he says full of anger.
Zero manage to say in between cries "It... It's not his fault".
"Stop protecting him Zero, I saw it, he used his powers on you, and he'll be punished" Brenner says.
"Please no..." Zero start pleading, crying even more. Henry does not say a word.
Brenner calls a guard to take Henry and to lead him to the punishment room, meanwhile, Zero pleads "Please don't hurt him, he didn't do anything wrong, please". Brenner does not listen to her and follow the guard to the punishment room. Henry gets shocked multiple times, but he takes it well as he is used to Mark's relentlessness. Henry is then brought to the infirmary, as always so his bruises can be taken care of.
Meanwhile, Zero has been brought back to her room because she was a crying mess, nothing could stop her from crying. She is in shock from what Henry showed her. A knot forming in her stomach from worry for Henry. She questions everything she's ever believed in, which is that every person is good in their own way, that everyone is selfless. Zero has been crying for 2 hours straight when Samantha comes into her room. "What's happening Zero?." Zero hesitates between lying and saying that her tummy ache (which is not a total lie because it does because of the worry) in order to make sure Henry is safe or if she should wait for him to come back. She ends up choosing the first option. "My stomach aches" she says, sniffling.
Samantha knows that Zero only says that to see Henry, but she feels so bad for the child that she pretends not to know. Instead she offers "Do you want to go to the infirmary?"
"Yes, please" Zero asks. Samantha brings her to the infirmary, explaining to the nurse that Zero's stomach aches, meanwhile Zero can catch a glimpse of Henry. He is awake and in better shape than last time, he looks at her with worry and she tells him through mind communication "I'm fine Henry, I might have lied a little bit because I needed to know that you were fine".
"I'm fine Anya, please don't worry for me, and please stay away from Mark. I think war is just a shot away Anya, we have to be prepared to fight him because he might want to hurt you and then to kill me and I can't let you get hurt again" Henry answers through telepathy.
"What are we gonna do?" she asks before being pulled out of her trance by the nurse's voice. "What's happening to you Zero?" The nurse asks softly.
"My stomach aches" Zero says.
"Okay, please lay down on the examination table" she says.
Zero lays down, keeping her eyes on the glimpse of Henry she can spot. She really wants to heal him, but she cannot, except if the nurse leaves the room, which is not going to happen anytime soon.
The nurses examine Zero while asking her questions "Have you been stressed lately?"
"A bit" Zero confesses.
"Have you eaten properly?" the nurses ask.
"I think so" Zero answers.
"Okay so you might have anxiety, come to me every time you feel this knot on your stomach or you have a hard time breathing and I'll give you the same pill I'm giving you know." She says while handing Zero a pill as well as a glass of water. Zero swallows it fast before muttering a small thank you. Samantha was leading her outside when she heard Henry say to the nurse "Can Zero come and see me please?." The nurse thinks about it for a minute before answering "Five minutes, not one more and you'll be supervised by Samantha." she answers.
Zero and Samantha were leaving when the nurse ran after them. "Wait" she says.
Zero and Samantha stop and the nurse start explaining "Henry would like to see Zero for five minutes. I said yes but not one more minute, Sam can you supervise them and make sure Zero does not use her healing powers on him."
"Sure" Samantha answers
"Thank you so much" Zero says.
The nurse lead both Zero and Samantha to Henry's bed, Zero sit on the chair next to the bed and takes Henry's hand. Henry smiles at her before saying by telepathy "I'm so sorry for what I show you earlier."
She answers by telepathy, her eyes drowned in Henry's blue eyes "Don't be, I had to see this."
"Are you okay?" Henry asks, aloud this time.
"I was just... worried about you" she answers honestly.
"Please, don't be Zero" Henry starts out loud before continuing through telepathy "He may have threatened my life but together, we are stronger, stronger than anyone on this earth, as long as you're not far away, my powers will be stronger too, so I'll be able to defend myself. Can I make you dream tonight, can you gimme shelter?"
"I am worried, I have reasons to Henry, and I care about you, a lot" Zero starts aloud before continuing in her head "Yes, we can dream together tonight, and every night you want to."
Samantha goes to Zero and put her hand on her shoulder, Zero quickly wipes her nose and turns to face her. "It's time to go" Samantha says "Henry will get out of the infirmary at noon, you'll see him this afternoon in the Rainbow Room" she continues.
Before leaving, Zero kisses Henry's cheek, and while she does so Henry blushes.
During Henry's time in the infirmary, Mark pays him a visit, he tells the nurse to go take a break. He tells her that he needs to talk to him about confidential matters related to his powers. When Henry hears that, he freezes, he knows he is in danger. His mind is racing with thoughts, Henry is scared, he has not been that scared since when he woke up in the lab.
