All chapters are written from the first person. Most chapters are written in the point of view of Emerald, the main character, some are written from the point of view of a side-character or a totally unknown character (not third person, an actual person in the book).
The dates in this story are always given, but from the perpective of the writer, "today" is the 1st May of a year. (If I mention the year, it might spoil a part of the book.)
