Chapter 9: Under Ilhim rain

a day has passed since his first murder.

he was disgusted for himself.

how could he so easily commit murder in cold blood.

without even a single sympathy to spare?

in fact such event causes him to understand the effect of reduced sanity.

the importance of sanity has become much more clearer to him. however that is no longer important, the fact a corpse appear in the village with clear grimm mark is something that he can't undermined ignore.

using the heavy rain as a cover, (Y/n) dressed in his black raincoat immediately acted.

walking to his destination silently, away from the view of any security camera and normal civilian.

creeping deeper into the his destination he scanned his surrounding.

in the street of the village, there was a couple of citizen minding their own Bussines, a couple acting lovey dovey under the safety of an umbrella, a businessman rushing to find cover under the heavy storm.

normal phenomena that happened under the rain.

unlike yesterday his black raincoat didn't seems out of place, and so no one take notice to him.

thankfully...

finally reaching the alleyway he immediately notice various police stop sign and presence of various official and curious human onlooker.

'shit... I was too late.'

the corpse has likely been set for autoposies, even if he wanted to destroy the evidence it was already far too late.

dreadtraxer is no longer an option with that many onlooker, and even reaching the corpse deep inside the alleyway is almost impossible due to the likely presence of a capable fighter.

joining the noisy crowd, (Y/n) ask the man beside him.

"excuse me, what happened here?"

"I'm not sure man, the cops wont tell anyone what happened in the alleyway. any attempt to get closer has resulted in police intervention. no one here know what's happening in there."

"do you think theres a murder here?"

"its not unlikely, but hell the cops are too reluctant to even say what happened there."

"damm it! everything has went wrong with this village every since the chief sent out all the huntsman!"

"The new chief is Incompetent! Incompetent ill tell ya!"

"we only want answer! 

quickly the crowd mood become volatile.

looking at the angry crowd he couldn't grasp it however something is indeed wrong in the village

the cops guarding the alleyway seems to become more nervous at the protesting crowd.

nobody understand what happened ever since the huntsman went out of the village, it seems as if every human in Ilhim mood become as volatile as gunpowder, at first it was simple argument about simple thing before it quickly become a violent brawl using sharp instrument and fire arm.

immediately the cops tried to set of the crowd.

while curious about the strange phenomenon (Y/n) immediately departed away from the crowd. he already get what he needed, while the volatile crowd is worrying theres nothing he can do about it.

however the moment he walked off away from the crowd, a blue window only visible to him appeared.

- (Slay the Butcher): Due to the sudden unrest of the village, a Tier 5 Harvester is implanted deep inside Ilhim water system, In the next 7 days from now on the harvester will started a hunt and caused a massacre that will affect even the kingdom of Mistral. failure to complete this quest will accelerate the first world calamity: The fall of beacon and the destruction of the village will cripple nearby smaller settlement. the accumulation of negativity leaving to a higher chance of a disaster level grimm to be born]

- Reward: 1 [instant Level up], 1 [Empty heart core], [Unlocked Aura], 5 [Gacha ticket]

reading the main quest he only have one word.

"fucked."

despite not recognizing the grimm, he still understand how f#cked he is.

 facing trouble with even a slightly stronger Beowulf that still reach the threshold of tier 2. within a week he must dealt with a tier 5 grimm.

a normal Ursa is still a tier 2 grimm, both beowolf alpha and Ursa major is a tier 3 grimm. while a giant nevermore and death stalker is  barely inside the category of a tier 4 grimm. a harvester is straight up a tier 5 grimm.

of course a licensed hunstman can easily dealt with one,

however one problem.

for the next months, there will be no huntsman in the village. and many competent fighter in the village wont be prepared to fight against a tier 5 grimm.

facing the deadline, he must rushed his action.

no matter how much danger he face.

if he failed this quest than his future will be bleak as well.

As this was his only chance to obtain an aura.

missed the opportunity once.

and he will missed it forever.

[A/n: fun fact, Minstral is the second most racist kingdom in canon RWBY. however in this book, general minority of atlas mostly the upper class is racist. while the Atlas lower class just ignore the Faunus, while most of Minstral citizen is straight up competitive racist, in the past some settlement under Minstral basically burn Faunus on stake.]
