Chapter Five // Needed Comfort and a New Journey

'You caused this! You're the reason why we're all dead it's because you!'

'You got us killed because of your powers!'

'You should've died instead of us, Juniper!'

The young girl quickly jumps up from laying on Atreus's shoulder which makes him jump as well. Juniper shakily looks around in the darkness trying to look for something to calm her down.

"June? Juniper, what's wrong?" The girl didn't pay attention to what her best friend was saying and went to push the hatch open but Atreus hugs her, stopping her from doing anything. "What are you doing, Juniper?! Father told us to stay down here."

"I— n-need to get out of here." She mutters multiple times. Without noticing, her hair starts to glow which shocks Atreus. "Why do you need to get out?" He asks her but she continues to ignore him. Atreus turns her head towards him. "Juniper, please focus on me, okay?"

Juniper looks into his blue eyes, still trying to get out of his grip but Atreus wouldn't let go. "Please try to calm down with me. Take deep breaths," She starts to do that but her hair continues to glow brightly. "Try to focus on me and think about the funny times we had with each other." The boy tells her. Juniper closes her eyes slowly and started to think of what happened after they first met each other.

After meeting Atreus and Faye, the young Juniper soon met Kratos. At first she was nervous of the big man but after spending sometime with him with hunting and later thought of the old god as a father figure. After a few weeks, she got used to being the family.

She was now taking care of Faye's garden with the woman, until a young Atreus soon comes running in and rushes towards the girl. When he hugs her, the two fall over and onto the ground. Faye just giggles at the two as Juniper shoves the boy off. "Treus! What was that for?" The young girl said while pouting and he just smiles at her.

"I just missed you, Juni." Atreus said and Juniper stares at him for a moment before giggling. "I missed you too, Treus."

"Mother, can Juni spend time with me now?" The boy asked his mother. Faye pretended to think about it. "Please!" He beg and the woman laughed. "Of course, Atreus. Make sure you two be careful." She tells them as the two kids started to walk away from her garden.

Once the two were in at least hearing distance from Faye, they sat down on the grass. Juniper noticed a lot of flowers and started to pick up a lot of them. "What's that Juniper?" Atreus asks and she shows him one flower crown with white and blue roses and another with white and purple roses.

"I made flower crowns for both us," Juniper says as she hands the one with blue roses and puts on the one with purple roses. "These will symbolize our new found and forever lasting friendship." She tells him. Atreus smiles at the girl and she shyly smiles back.

Juniper's blonde hair stops glowing and she opens her green eyes. "Are you okay now?" Her best friend asks, still feeling worried about her. She just smiles weakly at him and hugs him tightly which he returns.

After a while, the hatch opens and it reveals to be Kratos. Juniper could feel that he was tired somehow but she didn't want to question it. "Children." He says.
