As they continue to look for the deer, it suddenly appears from behind a boulder while sniffing the grass. "Aaah!" Atreus yelled as Juniper just stared at it. The deer turns its head towards them and it starts to run away. "Found it!" The boy starts to run after it while holding Juniper's hand, pulling her along.
"Slow down, boy!" Kratos orders. "You are hunting deer- not chasing it," he states and the boy stops. "Yes, father." Atreus says with his tone dropping and Juniper puts a hand on his shoulder to comfort him. The boy glances over at his best friend before smiling softly.
The girl soon notices a flower in the corner of her eye and she gasps lightly before running towards it. Kratos and Atreus glanced at each other before following after her. She kneels in front of the flower and she holds her hand over the flower. A small golden glow started to appear in her hand. "It's a White Camellia," Juniper says as she took out her small notebook and started to take notes on the flower while also drawing it on another page.
"How could you tell what flower it was, June?" Atreus says as he kneels beside her. "Oh, it's something that Faye me taught and they all symbolize something. See," she shows him her notebook and he looks at all flowers she had so far. The boy then stops on the yellow tulip.
'The Yellow Tulip represents happiness, cheerfulness, and hope. Faye once told me that it meant, "There's sunshine in your smile." After she told about it, I just have to try and find it so that I can give it to Treus soon.'
Atreus stared at words at the end and smiled. He was so lucky to have his best friend by his side. Kratos saw how his boy was smiling at the book as Juniper continued to look at the flower with such care. He soon thought he and Faye were like together, the pair were just like them. "Come, children. We must continue your hunting, boy."
The two get up and head towards a destroyed bridge. "He broke our bridge... how are we gonna get across?" Atreus says. "Step aside," Kratos orders the kids and they quickly move over to the side. Kratos takes his axe, Leviathan, in his mighty hands and throws it to the barrier. When it breaks the axe returns to he's hand.
"Wow." Juniper and Atreus both said. "Go," Atreus jumps across first and waits for Juniper to jump. When she jumps, she starts to slip a bit but her best friend grabs her wrist lightly and pulls her up. Atreus turns around and sees the damage that the deer made. "Woah. What happened?"
When Kratos gets to the other side of the bridge with them, the deer suddenly appeared. "There it is!" Atreus pulls out his bow. "Hold." Kratos tells him. Despite the outcry of his father, Atreus shoots and misses.
Kratos snatches the bow out of Atreus's hands. "What are you doing? Now its guard is up! Only fire..." He starts to yell but calms down and takes a deep breath. "Only fire when I tell you to fire."
"I'm sorry..." The boy says. "Do not be sorry. Be better. Find it." His father told him. Atreus tries to take back his bow, but Kratos doesn't let him. "Find. It." Juniper just stared at the two in worry but also understanding. Her father was like that with her and her sister sometimes but it did teach her somethings about living.
The three started to continue with their walk but were stopped by three Draugrs. "Ahh! My bow!" Atreus shouts. "No! You are not ready - stay back!" Kratos yells as he takes out his axe while Juniper takes out her daggers.
After defeating the creatures, Atreus says, "Draugr? They've never come this close to our woods before."
"Keep moving." Kratos tells him. "Uh... deer's this way. I can see more tracks," Atreus says but his father starts to go in a different direction. "Or we can follow you." They descend into a small cave by a chain attached to a stone.
"Wolves!" Atreus yelled when they got down. After Kratos takes them down himself, Juniper speaks. "They were just hungry," Kratos looks over at the girl. "What?"
"The wolves. They weren't mean. They were starving." Atreus explained. "Yes. I imagine they were," Kratos says as he opens a nearby tomb and takes a few coins from there. "What-?" His son says to his father.
"He can no longer use it. We can."

As they continued, Juniper noticed how Atreus started to talk to himself. "Are we lost? Nah... Should we be in here?" He says quietly as he notes that the deer jumped over the dilapidated wall of the old temple and Juniper giggled a little which made him notice and soon sees the deer. "Up there! He went in the old temple. But Mom told us never to go in there." He says.
"We do what we please, boy. No excuses," Kratos tells the kids and he opens a massive wooden door leading to the temple.
"Look," Atreus notices the deer. It stands at a fairly small distance from the characters, but it is impossible to get closer and he looks over to his father. "Can I have my bow back now?"
"Can you hit it from here?" Kratos questioned him and Atreus glanced over at the deer. "We should get closer." He says and they go around, trying to get closer to the deer. "I went hunting with mother a bunch of times. You never wanted to take me. Why now?" Atreus asks his father.
"It was her wish. And... it was time." Atreus smiled a little after that. "Ok. Draugr!" He shouts after he sees the creatures. Juniper quickly took out her sword. 'This is getting annoying with these creatures.' She thought as she started to attack some with Kratos.
When they defeat the Dragur, Atreus goes up to the gate leading out. "Something's gotta open that gate," Kratos starts to pull down a chain that is connected to the gate and then throws his axe which freezes it in place. "It's opening. You froze it in place. Clever." Atreus says as they walk in and out of the gate.
