Chapter 7

Cole's Pov

We were sat on the couch watching A Walk to Remember. Sarah was currently balling on my chest and I was trying to hold back tears. There is no way I am about to lose my man card. My phone started ringing making me scream with joy on the inside. I know how this movie ends and if it gets to that part there will be no stopping of the tears from flowing. Sarah sniffled as I got up to grab my phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Cole, we need you and Sarah to come to Willie's. It's important." My dad's voice sounded through the phone.

"Okay dad, we will be there soon."

"Alright. Oh and Cole, I am sorry." He said, hanging up the phone. I furrowed my eyebrows and shrugged.

I walked back into the living room to see Sarah fixing her makeup. "Hey babe, that was my dad. He said we need to head over to Willie's. Apparently, it is really important." I said, kissing the top of her head. She nodded and grabbed her keys "I'll drive!" She cheered, I chuckled and walked out to her Range Rover. She plugged her phone in and sang along to Nick Jonas. I laughed as she got really into it. When we pulled up, I noticed pretty much the entire family was there as well as Sarah's. I didn't think much about it, we were probably just planning a family vacation. The second we walked in you could feel the tension. "What is going on?" I asked, taking a seat on one of the bar stools next to Reed. "Well, we are really sorry to say this, but Cole and Sarah you have to break up." My dad said, refusing to make eye contact with us. I looked over and Sarah had her lips pursed and eyebrows furrowed, she was looking at Willie and he mouthed "I tried" back at her. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked back at my dad "Wait, why?" I asked, my palms were beginning to sweat, this means I have to date Cally for sure. "Management wants Sarah to date John Luke and you to date Cally again." My mom said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged off her hand and looked a her "Everything is always about publicity in this family and I hate it!" I yelled, storming out of the house. Sarah obviously knew about this, the look on her face said it all.

Sarah's Pov

I jumped as Cole slammed the door behind him. I bit my lip and looked at everyone. They all looked at me with pity written all over their faces. I knew this was going to happen, Willie had tried to talk to the management, but that obviously did not work out. "I'm just going to go home," I whispered, grabbing my keys and walking outside. Cole was nowhere to be seen. I let out a sigh as I turned on the car and drove home. I think I was starting to fall in love with Cole. I promised myself I would not cry over this, I knew it was coming therefore, I should not cry. Yet as I was driving along, tears started to spill out of my eyes. They were slow at first, but then they came out faster and I found myself having to choke back sobs. I have known John Luke my entire life, but he wasn't the one for me. I have been accustomed to this lifestyle for a while now, publicity ending relationships. Yet, you cannot prepare yourself for something like this, especially if you believed it would never happen to you. I pulled into the garage and turned the car off, but I didn't move from my spot. I couldn't hold back the sobs anymore, I laid my head on the wheel and cried. I know I should have tried harder, I probably could have made sure this didn't happen if I tried hard enough. The look on Cole's face is what I couldn't get out of my head. The look of betrayal and hurt. A look meaning all trust is gone.
