[So, this is my new Lilo series. It switches POV's, like the prologue is from Liam's point of view but then the first chapter will be in Louis'. I'm not sure if I will go back to Liam, but if I do it won't be for a long time. The story was originally thought of in Louis' perspective, the prologue is just to give you an idea of where it's going. (And the chapters will be a lot longer than the prologue.) Please give it a shot! And let me know what you think! Hope you like it! :)]
Liam sat in one of the two chairs offered for seating in the doctor's small office. Two chairs because you usually brought a loved one along with you for these things but he hadn't brought anyone. He didn't want to bother anyone or cause them worry. However, he sort of wishes he had brought somebody now because it was taking an awful long time for the doctor to return with his results and he was getting a bit nervous. He would have liked to have had Louis here beside him, assuring him that he was probably worrying for no reason. Louis never worried too much about anything, it's one of the many things Liam loved about him. Louis rolled with the punches, went with what was given to him and always thought it'd work out in the end. He could use that kind of attitude right now, but unfortunately that's not who Liam was.
Liam was the kind of guy that did worry about things. He worried about deadlines, about his loved ones, about the bills he had to pay... and his health. He definitely worried about his health which is why he's sat in a doctor's office after having gone through numerous tests. Blood tests, urine tests, x-rays, an MRI, a venereal test... Liam lost track of everything he's been tested for today and he didn't really care to remember them either. All he wanted to know was the results and what was wrong with him because he knew it was something. He's been feeling off lately. At first he thought it would pass but it's been a month and it only seems to be getting worse.
He was feeling more tired than he normally does, almost exhausted sometimes. He's been getting a lot of headaches and a few cramps near his stomach. He hasn't felt like eating much and it's begun to show, he's lost a lot of weight. He would wake up all sweaty and he got cold really easily. It just wasn't right. There was something wrong, he knew. He might be playing it up to be more than it actually was, it was probably just a really bad cold or the flu even, but he wanted to be sure. It didn't hurt to get checked out, it would put his mind to ease at least.
"Mr. Payne." The doctor greeted as he entered the room, startling Liam slightly. The doctor didn't smile at Liam, he didn't say anything else either. He just rounded his desk, took a seat on the other side and pulled out a file folder. Liam sat quietly and waited for the doctor to tell him what was going on, if there was something wrong with him or if he was just being silly. But the doctor didn't say anything. The doctor continued to look down at the file folder, not seeming to be reading it but just looking for an excuse to not look at Liam. He was chewing on his lip, his fingers fiddling with each other in front of his chest before he sighed and removed the glasses from his face, raking his hand down his face.
Liam didn't know what it was... Actually it was the doctor's behaviour and the fact that he seemed a bit upset... A bit torn and wouldn't look at Liam, that had Liam's gut sinking in dread. He didn't have a good feeling about this.
[Please let me know what you thought. Any kind feedback is welcome, I want to improve in any way possible! Thanks for reading!]
