Louis didn't even make it to his car before tears were spilling over his eyes, blurring his vision and streaking his cheeks. It was harder than he thought it would be to see Liam again. He honestly thought he'd be happy to see him again, to be able to see that smile one last time and to have those eyes trained on him again, but he wasn't. Maybe on some level, at first, he had been happy, but the longer he stood there with Liam, the more it sunk in that even though he got to see Liam again, it would never be the same and he didn't want  to see Liam if it couldn't be the same. He didn't want to see Liam if he couldn't give him a greeting kiss. He didn't want to see Liam if he couldn't wrap his arms around his waist and rest his head on his shoulder. He didn't want to see Liam if he couldn't tease him and bug him just so he would hold his hand to make him stop. He didn't want to see Liam if Liam didn't want to see him.

When Louis made it to his car he fumbled with his car keys, dropping them on the ground twice before he was able to get his key in the lock. He sank down into his car, slamming the door shut and resting his head on the steering wheel. He didn't even care that the sun had made his car feel like it was a thousand degrees in there. He didn't care that people passing by could easily look in and see him crying on his steering wheel. He just didn't care. He just wanted to be home now, well... not really. He didn't want to go home because there were still traces of Liam in his flat, there always would be and he had learned to just live with them over the past five months, but he couldn't deal with that right now, so instead he pulled out his phone and blurrily typed out a message.

Louis
Are you home?

Harry
No but I could be why?

Louis
I ran into Liam

Harry
Doors unlocked, vodka or whiskey?

Louis
Both

Harry wasn't home when Louis reached his flat, but the door was unlocked like Harry had promised so Louis let himself in. It's not like Louis couldn't get in anyway, he had a key, but he supposed it was better that Harry knew he was here... common courtesy or something polite like that. His tears had subsided about half way to Harry's, drying up on their own as Louis came to feel more and more drained. He didn't have it in him to cry anymore, he barely had the energy to get out of his car and climb the stairs up to Harry's flat. He was kind of thirsty but again, he barely made it to the couch that was about ten feet from the door that Louis promptly tossed himself on, landing with his body twisted in an awkward angle but again, Louis didn't care.

Harry's flat was a bit smaller than Louis', all the rooms just smaller but Harry had less stuff so it didn't feel like it. Louis almost preferred Harry's flat, it was a bit cozier and it had a better view of the city than his did, but Louis liked his extra space and knew he couldn't fit all of his crap in here. Still, the small flat was as familiar to him as his own. He knew you came in the front door and found yourself in the living room. If you went straight you'd find a hall that had the kitchen at the end of it on the right and Harry' room on the left with the bathroom and a closet along the way. It wasn't much, but it was like a second home to Louis.

It wasn't long after that that Louis heard a shuffling coming from the other side of the door, obviously Harry struggling with opening the door, probably having something to carry that was making it difficult. Louis knew he could be nice and get up to help him out but he couldn't muster the energy at the moment and he figured that Harry will have opened it by the time he actually hauled himself to his feet and made his way over there. Eventually Harry fell through the door, stumbling and grabbing at the door to steady himself, bags hanging from his arms that swung ahead with the motion and smacked against the door. Louis distinctly heard the sound of glass bottles among the loud clash and knew Harry had really gone all out this time.
