Oh Golly, they are all still alive! Hurray!

And Valory is caring the mice on her UNHARMED - not even by her -!

huh.

I'm impressed. Nay, I'm kind of proud.

The blonde walked past the entrance where the five guards had fallen, putting an effort not to get blood on her white boots. Certainly, it would be a pain in the ass to get blood stains off the pristine white leather, too, but most importantly, she would leave tracks.

That would be too rookie a move.

Valory was no rookie.

By now I'd like to believe you realized the beautiful blonde is a wolf in sheep's clothing...

There she was faced with a long hallway, with many doors to both sides as one went deeper, however, right at the beginning there weren't any. Just a somewhat narrow corridor, wide enough for one troll to pass at a time. The bombshell wasn't all that petite like the fairy, but still much smaller than a dammed troll, so it wasn't all that bad.

The only issue she had, was the fricking rodents on her.

If she could never see another one again, it would be too good.

The bombshell could feel them on her. Their little paws. Their teeny tiny sharp claws. Their quietest squeaks. Even the ludicrously weak wind they produced with every breath.

It was beyond distracting, for sure.

At least the pests were still too afraid of her to dare talk.

Yeah, yeah, she was aware the critters were Ailrees, Jack, Caleb, and brother dearest, but it didn't make it any easier on her. Actually, it made things worse. Since she knew who they were, she couldn't just be rid of them!

There were torches every now and then, so the hallway wasn't terribly dark, although, one could still spring from shadow to shadow to hide oneself. Valory did just that.

She kept doing that and told one of the brown mice to tell her if she passed by a room where Connor could potentially be in. She meant to tell it to Jack, but who knows? They all looked alike. The mouse nodded in response, so let's suppose they understood the assignment either way...

The blonde heard voices away, and then footsteps approaching.

"About time."
she muttered.

For a lair, the trolls weren't that great at guarding it. Their response to the commotion at the entrance was despicable. Valory had seen drunken biker gangs with a quicker response, haha. Not that she was complaining, far from that, she rejoiced in their incompetence since she didn't know how long it would be before she would have a party to rely on.

The voices were replaced by groans and the steps were now too close for the blonde to keep going straight forward down the corridor. She silently opened the door nearest to her and entered the room blindly hoping there wouldn't be anyone in there.

She stood behind the door, and crunched, without uttering a sound or even looking around, until she was certain the trolls had passed the said room.

Only then, she relaxed.

Like a light switch, she was back to her curious self.

The bombshell extended her arm to the ground so it would be easier for the mice to climb down, and once they had, she stood up and stretched her limbs. She wasn't sore or anything, what she was, was practical. So far, the room seemed empty, but let's say Valory had to make a run for it... it would be better to do so on fairly stretched and warmed-up muscles.
