The BLACKPINK members had been living at their pink Hongdae home for the filming of 'BLACKPINK HOUSE' for a little while now. However, as an event for fans, the girls had decided they wanted to make an edible gift for the BLINKs to take home with them after their guerilla event.
A chef had come over to help them out, proposing that they make chicken bao buns with ranch and pickled vegetables as a cute edible gift, and Jisoo and Jennie were hard at work preparing the food (Jisoo wouldn't stop laughing about the fact the process was like a factory production line, slicing and placing and slicing and placing over and over again).
"You're like the radish-slicing master, unnie!" Jennie laughed as she watched Jisoo tirelessly grate the white vegetable, "taste it. Did you do a good job?"
Jisoo pinched a couple strands in her hand with a confident smirk, placing the radish on her tongue, and Jennie cackled when she saw the instantaneous wince on her unnie's face. "Evidently not!"
"Is this how radish tastes like?" Jisoo sighed disappointedly, "oh well... at least I found something I'm good at!"
Jennie slapped the older member in hysterics, "you should show the maknaes your new talent. I'm sure they'll be soo proud of you."
But looking around the newly flower-adorned house, the unnies noticed that Chaeyoung and Lisa were nowhere to be seen.
Unbeknownst to the two black-haired girls, Chaeyoung and Lisa were sitting on the deck outside their living room, hidden from view by the grey curtains and pink Christmas tree.
Chaeyoung gently gripped the back of her girlfriend's red sweater, as she listened to her excited cries. Lisa was gasping excitedly at the sight of three gorgeously patterned kittens in the shrubs by their deck, squealing "look at you!!!! Oh, baby..."
"Shhhh, honey," as cute as it was to hear her girlfriend's eager sounds, Roseanne knew they'd only scare the kittens away.
"Awwwh, but they're so cute," Lisa bounced her knees up and down, acknowledging but not listening to her girlfriend, "babyyy, come here..."
"Should we get them some water?" Chaeyoung asked in her Aussie accent, "maybe then you can see them closer?"
At this, the girl with straight brown hair's face lit up. "Oh, yes yes yes! Pleasee!!!"
And so the older propped herself up from the ledge they'd been sitting on to grab a dish of water from the kitchen.
"There you are, Chaeyoung-ah!" Jisoo had exclaimed, looking up from packing their gifts when she finally caught sight of Roseanne after quite some time, "where have you and Lisa been?"
"We were out looking at the cats outside," Rosie replied with a sigh at the warmth indoors, "Lisa's having so much fun and the last thing I want is to ruin it, but it's really cold out there and I kinda don't want to go back out."
"Then just don't," Jisoo laughed in her way that was so matter-of-factly.
"I told her I'd get some water for them though," Chaeyoung sighed, almost regretfully (even though all three of them could tell that she secretly loved doing anything for Lisa), "do we have any little dishes I could use?"
Jisoo looked up from the square drink bottle she'd been placing in a bag to scan the room, "well I guess that's fair. I'll bet if she finds out you were cold she'll do anything to make it up to you and you two will be even. But there's a couple dishes over there by the oven."
Chaeyoung followed Jisoo's pointer finger to a dark blue dish in the corner and thanked her, scooping it into her hands before filling it up in the sink and carrying it steadily out to meet Lisa once more.
"Lisa, I got the water," she sang as she approached her girlfriend, finding her standing up on the deck to inch even closer to the kittens, "hey! I didn't mean physically go closer!!"
The younger turned with a bright smile to see her concerned looking girlfriend holding a dish of water. "Rosie, look how cute they areeee!!!! Put the water down, quick, quick!"
Roseanne pouted in worry as she silently put the dish down by the smallest cat closest by, before returning to her spot on the ledge. Lisa - being the cat lover she was - loved hardly anything more than being able to make friends with the little felines, and Chaeyoung knew this. However, she also knew that when Lisa got excited, no matter how adorable it was, she'd always become so hyperactive and loud and squealy that even she'd sometimes have to cover her ears; there was no way the cute kittens wouldn't get scared.
Admittedly, part of her was also feeling a bit left out that she wasn't getting as much attention from her girlfriend as the cats were. But knowing that thought was childish, she pushed it to the side.
She watched anxiously as Lisa put her hand out, raising her voice. "Lisa.... baby please, you're going to scare them away." The last thing she wanted was Lisa to get upset because she herself had caused them to hide.
Lisa turned back to face her girlfriend before pouting and begrudgingly moving to sit beside her on the ledge, "fineee..."
Chaeyoung smiled a grateful smile as she placed a caring arm around the younger. With more control over her as she was now by her side, she allowed herself to relax a little. "They are pretty cute though..."
"I know, Rosie!!!" Lisa exclaimed excitedly, and Roseanne had to put a gentle hand in her girlfriend's lap to stop her from bouncing.
Once her girlfriend had settled down, Chaeyoung brought her fingers to softly tangle in Lisa's hair, "shhh, just stay quietly baby."
Lisa held her breath in her cheeks puffed out wide, forcing herself not to speak. However she soon gave up. "I want to pat them sooo bad... see that one by the water? That's Baby. I gave it a name."
"What about the grey one?" Roseanne pointed to one of the bigger ones hiding behind the shrubs.
"He's... Grey." Lisa smiled proudly, "what about the last one though?"
The biggest cat roamed the pavement alertly, solid eyes contrasting with its multicoloured fur. "Hmm... Spots."
"Spots?" Lisa repeated to clarify, "Spots... okay!"
But then, a sudden meow from Spots, and the two younger cats pricked up their ears and made their way towards the biggest, and they slowly sauntered away into the shrub to be hidden once more.
"Awwh... they're gone," Lisa pouted in slight disappointment, "they must be cold."
Now that the danger of Lisa being upset about her own actions was gone, Chaeyoung was able to acknowledge her personal wishes again, "...I'm cold too..."
Lisa turned to face her shivering girlfriend with shocked wide eyes. "Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't realise you were that cold Chaeyoung-ah!"
The younger quickly wrapped two strong, loving arms around the older in an affectionate hug. "I was too excited about the cats, I'm sorry I didn't notice! Do you want to go inside?"
"Yes please..." Chaeyoung shyly admitted.
Jisoo and Jennie looked up from having finally packaged all their delicious bao buns to see Lisa gently ushering Chaeyoung inside.
"You two had fun with the cats?" Jennie asked them kindly, "you have to check out our buns by the way, they look really delicious actually."
"Yeah we did!!!" Lisa exclaimed like the answer was obvious, "but I didn't realise poor Rosie was so cold. I'm so sorry again Chaeyoung. Is there anything I can do to help you warm up faster??"
"Ahhh, see what I said Chaeyoung-ah!" Jisoo laughed at hearing Lisa's words, "I was right! She'll do anything for you now."
Chaeyoung laughed as she sat contentedly, balled up by the couch in Lisa's strong arms. Sure, sitting out in the cold and worrying that Lisa would be sad if the kittens ran wasn't the most pleasant, but she knew that her being supportive of Lisa's favourite things made her feel so happy.
This, plus knowing that now she had Lisa's full attention, had her already feeling pretty warmed up from the inside out.
